I didn't see them on the floor (must have been a cause of much shame since tons of previously released exclusives such as LBP3, inFamous Second Son and Resogun had booths.
The Driveclub logo was incorporated into the cool PlayStation Experience crest they designed for the event though.

Cool.

I signed up minutes after it went live, so I might be OK, but I don't think I got any confirmation, so it's good to have a backup.

I have no doubt the final product will be just as bad, but I'm still buying it the second it comes out.

Looks like some anonymous types took out Lizard Squad (the group that's been dumping DDoS attacks on PSN and grounding it to a halt the past few months), helping some of them actually getting arrested. They also showed Sony where they're most vulnerable. So hopefully, PSN won't be going down again any time soon.

Hopefully they put those assholes away!

Some of the most reprehensible stuff they did was threaten female streamers to get naked or they'd get swatted. Unfortunately, many women would comply, and the few that wouldn't would get raided on bogus bomb threats, afterwhich the police couldn't do any thing about.

The weird part is that they're mostly just teenagers.

Then where the hell are the parents who are letting them cause a lot of PITA for a lot, a lot of people?

Where exactly are they getting peoples addresses from? You can't derive it from an IP address or a user account.

I guess if you can get all/part of a name and a general location, the rest is often publicly available.

RichC2 12-16-14 08:58 AM

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

Well I mean, teenagers rarely own their own house so it wouldn't be publicly available unless they purposely posted it up there. You'd need the full name and location (which IP locations are usually good to either your zipcode or a neighboring one), which is why I've always been against that YouTube "True Name" crap they keep pushing and avoid using it.

Some of these kids were in other countries even, like England and Canada.

Thinking about getting a PS4 this weekend but really unsure on its media file playing capabilities (streaming from PC and locally via USB). Can the PS4 play MKV, mp4 and AVI files consistently without transcoding?

I'm pretty sure that the PS4 is not capable to play those files like the PS3.

The PS3 couldn't play MKV either. The Xbox One can granted it isn't encoded with DTS audio.

Ok, but can the PS4 play mp4 and Avis at least? Doing some research, I see the ability to play MKVs just cameout for the Xbox One so guessing it may be possible for the PS4 to do the same with a future update?

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

In terms of Media and apps, the PS4 is lacking compared to the X-box One. If you don't mind waiting for a future update and who knows when that be, as their updates have been sporadic.

If I remember correctly, their reasoning behind it was to encourage people to purchase movies and TV shows from their PSN store and music through their subscription service.

Do not buy a PS4 hoping it'll do things you want it to do someday. It doesn't even do all the things they said it would do yet...

If I wanted an Media Center that could play games I would've got an XO. if you want a system that plays games with possibility of media add-ons later get a PS4
