Re: Fallout 4
Just curious...how many points is there to level up the Perks?....is it 60...80...100?
Also I wanted to confirm you cannot reset you skill points....the ones you pick at the beginning right?
I had to ask because my friend who we got the game at the same time...well, she was a bit upset last night when I told her where I've been putting my points. She was like, "how are you able to put points that far down and what level are you?". I said Level 17 and my Luck is at Five Stars so I can go to tier 5 on the chart ( I was talking about the Mysterious Stranger). All this time she thought you had to get all the stars filled before moving down......she literally thought she might start over or give up.
I told her it was the same with me...I didn't realize it until I hit Level 12...which wasn't bad because I put point in Strength, Charisma, Agility, Endurance and Intelligence. But we both agreed it wasn't real clear at first on how to do it. We've avoided any walk-thrus, location guides and how-to's far the most part. But boy, I could sense the sir being let out of her thru the mic last night......
Got another point to spend and I'm looking at Locksmith. I'm coming across safes and doors I cannot get into and both of us have left a lot behind....shame no way of tagging or marking these But I also might need the perk to link settlements. I've got three, two are growing and Peterson told me two more are needing help. And speaking of Peterson I got the "Lovable Trophy"...maxing out the relationship with him. I have the option of getting Piper; so should I get her and how is she helping out versus Peterson.

Sorry about your friend. She should have a save she can adjust just as she leaves the vault. I agree the games are not intuitive and instruction is poor... and that is being kind.

Did the mission with The Silver Shadow....I had to get a picture of me and Nick with those throw back outfits....
I put another point into Luck so the Better Critical Perk is now open. I figure with 50% more crit damage that's got to be a good one to get. After it I'm looking ahead to either Rifleman (20% extra damge to non-automatic rifles) or Life Giver (instantly gain +20 maximum health)

Re: Fallout 4
I ended up getting the Rifleman Perk because I feel I'm not doing enough damage and with some now taking forever to get them down, even with the Critical Perk. If it weren't for the Mysterious Stanger coming in and taking some out I'd be taking forever even more.
Almost everything I have cannot be upgraded much more unless I upgrade the Weapon Crafting perk. The Pipe Guns are plenty but have weak damage. I have some "Special" 10mm Guns with buffs on Critical and dealing RAD damage but I might as well be shooting a 22. I use the Combat Rifle a lot but it takes a while. It's been the Sniper, Cell Rifle, a Rapid Fire 45 Pistol and The Combat Shotgun which has proved the most worthy.

Re: Fallout 4
I played through almost the entire game just using a sniper rifle and a shotgun. You should definitely level up the weapon and armor crafting perks.

Re: Fallout 4
I have yet to start the missions with Nick Valentine.
I'm waiting until I'm sufficiently leveled up before starting the main story line.

That's the one thing I hate is you cannot take any of the special reward gear of your stash/backpack. I haven't done any of the Shadow missions yet....if anything it does look cool.
We were talking last night how this game continues to surprise us. But so.e of the mini missions are even long. I just did the one for Bobbie No Nose where we had to go underground and break into some complex....that went all over the place with several places you can go. Some of the underground tunnels are as extensive as the sewers in The Division or more. Found some of those Glowing Ghouls including a legendary....man I hate them. I gave up smacking them and use a shotgun to a leg. They're funny and harmless crawling on the ground. This is where I wish the game had the famous Gears of War Boot Smash execution....like stomping on a melon.

The mission that requires the Silver Shadow gear is one of my favorites of the entire game.

Re: Fallout 4
I haven't played Fallout 4 in a couple months (finished it at level 61) but decided to finally play Far Harbor and I spent my first hour trying to locate Nick Valentine. They really need to put in a better system to find your companions that are around in the world. I went through all the settlements and I was only able to locate 4 of them even though I recruited every available companion in the game.
#1139
Re: Fallout 4
There's a mod on Xbox One that fixes that issue. It'll show on your map where each of your companions are. I don't know how the name of the mod but it should be under quality of life mod category.

Re: Fallout 4
I'm playing on PS4 the one system that doesn't have that mod. It's still ridiculous that they don't have that built into the game.

Re: Fallout 4
That is a pretty odd omission, especially since the map tracks where you left your power armor. Even if they didn't want the map to be cluttered, they could have just opened up that menu where you get to send a follower to a particular settlement, and made it so you could use that whenever you wanted.

Re: Fallout 4
My conspiracy theory is that Bethesda planned on implementing it in a future update but after seeing modders do it for them decided to leave it be.

I've been playing Black Ops III and noticed that there's a new update for Fallout 4. Is it a new DLC map? Far Harbor was great.

The only thing I saw is that now on the addon menu it has the announced at E3 DLC listed out as coming soon.

Since having the game for about a month I've been lucky to come across just one Deathclaw...which was the mission in Concord where I got my first Armor Suit...and had to use it against him. Well yesterday I came across five killing four...well the Mysterious Stranger did take out one and that was a hoot.

Re: Fallout 4
Finished up Far Harbor. Great addon and I'm glad I brought Nick Valentine with me. I didn't care for the final
section though. Some tough choices to make there at the end. I ended up keeping
I happened to be looking through the trophies for all the DLC since I'm only interested in the story stuff and I didn't realize Automatron was story related. I thought the other two DLC's besides Far Harbor were just creating/settlement content so I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite a bit shorter then Far Harbor but still very enjoyable other then the bugged (for me) final battle which I had to restart four times. I highly recommend wearing your Silver Shroud gear while doing this DLC.

Is the Silver Shroud that good of gear or mainly for that DLC. I'm wearing a collection of odds & ends that give me some buffs here & there.....like Pocketed, -15% damage against Humans or ghouls etc....and you cannot wear anything else with it correct?

Interesting...I like building and all but still clueless as to the electrical poles, transformers and all the other gadgets. I had to turn off two of the Settlement Broadcast Beacons because of too many people. Still this looks like something to pass the time with...
