Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Hey, that's my new car (minus the Zelda :().
I got 4 million credits and basically tried to get as many different cars I needed for different races. It's amazing how easily I would of hit a pay wall because of the pitiful payouts in the game. I thought they were going to increase them this month? If you want an insane car, buy the Ariel Atom V8, that shit is nuts. The Hennessy Venom is pretty insane too. Honestly I tend to have more fun driving the slower cars like the BRZ, especially after putting just tad more HP into it. I did a couple of the super high class races, and wow, they still only give you like 6,000 credits for winning a race. |

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
I'm glad they're changing the payouts. Didn't know that (not really keeping up with the Forza community). It did seem strange to me that there really wasn't any benefit in buying the super-fast exotic cars -- you just still raced against a field of identical cars and got the same 6000 CR payout per race and the same 31,000 CR bonus per level upgrade, regardless of level. It didn't seem any easier to win with a 600,000 CR car vs a 60,000 one. Just weird stuff.
How will I get my free car from the LE? Have they announced that yet?

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Honestly, I can live with the limited inventory of cars. It makes collecting them all more possible and there's at least a fairly wide variety. What bothers the hell out of me is the lack of tracks. Seeing the slew of GT6 tracks just made me fume because we have SO FEW in this game -- compounded by the lack of weather or night-time racing. You can't go more than 6 or 7 races without having a repeat. It's absurd.
There's a ton of repetition as a result and it's so frustrating. It's a really well made game that just feels stripped. |

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
From that interview:
Dan Greenawalt: I have to be honest, our team takes great pride in what lights up our players, and community's the heart of what we do. So it's been disappointing. I'm not disappointed in people - people feel how they feel. I'm more disappointed in myself that I've elicited this reaction in people. I think the biggest travesty for me is how people have misread our intentions, because that's just been sad |
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
They've sent me four free cars over the last two days, if anyone is still playing...
|
When you say they're sending you free cars, how is that happening? An in-game notification? Email? Do you have to register something to take part?
I ask 'cause I haven't gotten nothin'. I'm playing it pretty casually, and as long as I can get my fiancée at least one Alfa Romeo in the game (which we have enough credits to buy!), we're good to go. |
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
When the game starts, when you're notified about your Drivatar's winnings, it's in that same area. Then in the menus the cars show up in the in-game email system.

I really have a love-hate relationship with this game. The limited track selection gets so old -- I can live with fewer cars offered here, but the tracks, man. They keep repeating over and over again. The absence of day/night and weather makes it so much more repetitive still. I played some GT6 and the constant variety of tracks, both real and fictional made it so much more interesting, even at lower rez. That said, the graphics are SO good here. Everything looks great and you can tell in this case that 60 FPS makes for a world of difference. Things move by at a blinding pace. The car interior views are just amazing and really the only way to go. They almost made an epic game here. Too bad they were so stingy with the cars and especially the tracks. BTW : Chuck, my daughter was watching me play last night and thinks your Drivatar drives like a dick. Shaane as well, whoever he is. Can't complain though - I'm sure Decker 01 is swerving all over the place and smashing into everyone. :) |
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Yeah I'm a VIP member, maybe that's why we're getting cars. And you're not the first person to say that about my Drivatar.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Got my Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel Ferrari 458 Italia Edition a week ago. Started really playing Forza 5 when I got the wheel. Both the wheel and game were great. On Christmas Eve my TX Racing Wheel went up in a puff of smoke. After a two hour session, the wheel burned out. A acrid heavy smell of fried electronics emanated from the wheel. Poof gone. $399.99 wheel gone. I've contacted Thrustmaster. But this being Christmas weekend I'll have to wait till next week. I've read this isn't the first TX wheel to burn out.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Wow, I'd be super-pissed if that happened to me. I'm sure it's well under warranty though.

Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
So I picked this up today. Is the game still real bad about making you race over and over just to unlock things? Those sill playing it, how is the balance now? Any tips for starting out?
|
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
I'm not sure what you mean. You mean grinding to earn points? If you play enough tracks, and frequently, your drivatar earns you a lot of points as well. I think the payouts on races is better than when it was in the beginning. I haven't played in a while (I have too many games).
|
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
I just started this game myself. I'd rather see all my cars at once in my garage than only the selected car. I like the option of setting difficulty for driving assistance as well as drivatar difficulty. Games like this do get a little boring for me. I used to really like driving sims but any more I'd rather play more of an arcade style like the burnout series.

The cars are available to download for free, and are also free to add to your in-game garage. |
Re: The Full HD Forza Motorsport 5 Thread (Xbox One)
Wow free, and free to add to your in-game garage? That's nice and about time they started doing that! It's super annoying to pay for DLC and then still not have the in-game currency to actually use the DLC car.
