Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

Can we have one moviefan thread that doesn't, in some fashion, devolve into a lame argument?

Didn't think so, carry on.

That's why they go after the "big dogs" (i.e. the distributors) rather than the individual downloaders. Sometimes, take the music industry for example, they will go after downloaders though. Its just not that common because its usually not worth the effort.
You misunderstand me. They go after individual downloaders, but not for downloading. It's always for distribution. You download something from a torrent, you are also distributing it at the same time. Every lawsuit I have ever seen or read about is always based on the distribution of copyrighted material.

But this is taking the thread way off topic, so I'm gonna leave it at that.

Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

SNES A Link to the Past hands down, end of poll! Seriously, it was the last good Zelda game. Once they went 3D they went to shit. Actually pretty excited for the new 3DS game.

A disclaimer that you're breaking the law? Good to know!

And P.S. we wouldn't harp on this stuff if you weren't always trying to claim the moral high ground.

You paid for that one specific copy. That doesn't mean you are entitled to other copies for free. That's like going to a grocery and buying one apple and thinking you are entitled to more free apples because you paid for one already.

A disclaimer doesn't stop it from being an illegal act. What would you disclaim anyway? "Hey guys this is an illegally uploaded movie. User beware." Yeah, that won't work.

Also just because the company hasn't asked you to remove it also doesn't mean its not illegal. That's like thinking you are only guilty of something if you get caught. No, you're still guilty. You just weren't caught.

Hey guys! I am going to murder someone. Its all okay because I am disclaiming it in advance here.

I don't know which is dumber, moviefan's defense of his illegal uploading/downloading activities or that whole master dog garbage.

I understand you have problems with moviefan2k4's past posts, but you have managed to derail an entire thread about Zelda with this nonsense.

This is the time for a moderator to step in.

To be fair, moviefan was the one talking about using ROMs.

Anyway, fine, back to Zelda, or else, yadda yadda.

Is it a sin to call myself a Zelda fan and I've never played Link to the Past. My vote is Ocarina. N64 in general holds a special place in my heart as the first console i could consider mine. Both Ocarina and Mario 64 are still two of the best games I've ever played.

I'm on the opposite end. Link To The Past was the last Zelda game I've played. Well, I played a few minutes of one of them on the Wii, but I wouldn't count that. I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the SNES.

I remember being a little disappointed with Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, sandwiched between two stellar entries.

Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

I have no idea why it came into my head. But I just started thinking about Zelda II last week. My signature is a little nod to it. Anyways, that game sucks.

A Link to the Past is the best game ever. Not just Zelda. But any game.

It wins against other Zelda games, because it's story is simple, and not so definite. While the later 3D Zelda showed us everything, I had to use my 10 year old mind to imagine what it's like down there on the ground. I would equate it to a movie that isn't insistent on showing everything.

But yea. The way you older people had Star Wars, Star Trek or comics - I had Zelda nerdom and had interest in the stories and everything. It's kind of a big deal to me.

Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

I kind of liked Zelda II. Seems incredibly out of place as a Zelda game though (given how the rest of the series developed), and feels like more of a standard RPG, even having to grind a bit for XP.

That's probably because a different team worked on it, compared to Miyamoto's main group that did the first.

Yeah, I liked Zelda II but the last time I played it was probably in 1988.

Really?

You guys have this ridiculous obsession with him. Yes, his religion posts tend to be annoying but half the time you guys bring it up first. He believes in something that you don't. Get over it.

Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

I voted Zelda II as a joke but I actually do like the game, and I'd rather play that version of Link than the games where he looks like a "It's a Small World" puppet.

Re: Favorite "Zelda" Game?

Zelda II is awesome. I would take a direct sequel to that, though there's no chance in hell for it.
