Finally, the full release of Arma 3.

The new map, Altis, is so big. I can play for hours and not see anyone else. And these are 75 player servers.

And that's fun?

I'm an open world game junkie. I hate invisible walls and shoebox sized maps.
Plop me down in a virtual world and I'm happy, regardless if I find anyone to shoot.

The Wasteland servers (which is where my 3 hour example came from) are a sandbox where anyone can do what they want. It's divided into three factions, and each usually establish a base and defend it against the other factions. But if you want to just lone-wolf it and snipe people, have at it.

There are other servers with more structured missions and clearly defined objectives which get you into combat quicker.

Another type of game play is the zombie servers. Just like DayZ only using the new Arma3 engine and maps.

About 6 hours in and finished Alice in Wonderland world. So many great memories

I can see how the map size would have an influence on the enjoyment of a game like ARMA. I find that in most open world games though, larger size of the map just means a lot of empty obstacles and open space that makes everything take longer. I much prefer a smaller, more dense open world.

I can see that. I played the heck out of Skyrim. But having to crisscross the map half a dozen times to complete a quest and sell items just killed it for me in the end. Yes, I'm aware of fast travel, but that always seemed like cheating to me...

The WiiU version. I can't imagine playing any other version.
