Damn! Rise against the empire is a timed exclusive too? that sucks

Hailey G 06-29-15 09:45 AM

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

Infinity's timed exclusives usually mean like month. Not that big of a deal.

There has been a date set for the wide release of the Rise against the Empire set, and it's September 29th. Given that, I would expect the game itself to launch in late August/early September

wlj 06-29-15 09:59 AM

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

ok riddle me this:

how is the playset a timed exclusive....don't the figures and the playset piece work with all consoles?

Hailey G 06-29-15 10:14 AM

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

The same way that the Black Suit Spider-Man figure is a PS Vita exclusive right now. For the first month or so, they only come in PS3/PS4 bundles, with the game and base.

If you absolutely had to have them early, you would be free to buy a PS3/PS4 bundle and re-sell everything you don't need. The figures and playsets would work fine with Xboxes and Wii's, they just won't be packaged for individual sale for some time.

Rise Against the Empire will be available separately by the end of September. I'm hearing that Boba Fett may not be available individually until January.

AH ok, thanks for the clarification there. I can wait.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

Well, this is the first item i have pre-ordered in years. I just don't want to have to worry about finding the sh1t. i will let amazon just send it to me.

I got:

Star Wars Xbox 360 Starter Pack
Obi-wan
Yoda

i am guessing the other SW figures come out later. these were the only ones i could find on pre-order. I was hoping for Darth Maul right away.

August 23rd release date announced

http://www.gamespresso.com/2015/07/1...ate-announced/

also, this toybox takeover addon you get with preorders is looking to be very cool. It is a diablo-esque mode where you have 6 levels I think. i know 2 of the are pirates of the caribbean and deathstar. you can mix and match all of the figures so you could have Elsa and Olaf going through the Deathstar, Obiwan and YOda through POTC.

looks fun

Will that mode be available after release too?

It is available for free as a pre-order bonus at most/all retailers. I have seen it mentioned BBY/Amzn, and Gamestop websites.

what is everyone's favorite playset in 2.0? Mine interestingly enough is the shortest one, the Guardians of the Galaxy set. I really like the characters and the setting. I have all the guardian statues except for Yondu and Drax -- I got Ronan over the weekend and he is pretty fun as you level him up.

I plan on picking up the Star Wars Saga set of Disney Infinity 3.0 to introduce my daughter to gaming, but I've got no experience with the figure/base/game thing. What from the past Infinity collections will work with 3.0? I know that the figures work in Toy Box mode...do the "playsets" or "discs"? Still trying to wrap my head around the concept.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

All the figures will work in the Toy Box. Which is like a sandbox, build your own game type of thing.

The Playsets, which are more like traditional games, only work with the characters they are intended for (Inside out figures work with Inside out, Star Wars figures with Star Wars playsets, Marvel with Marvel, etc.)

Playset pieces from 1.0 and 2.0 will not work in 3.0, but you can still place them on the base and import all of the toybox items.

Power Discs come in 2 types, character power ups and costumes (round discs) and items/sky changers/textures (hexagonal discs). You can use power discs from any previous game in 3.0. Round power discs work anywhere. Hexagonal discs only work in the toy box.

There are also some Hexagonal "toy box game" discs, that allow you to play a more traditional game in the toy box with almost any figure. I'm assuming only the 3.0 discs will work with 3.0.

Thanks! That's pretty much the most succinct and understandable explanation that I've seen.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

i hope that eventually every statue will work in any playset. It would be hilarious to play Elsa fighting through the Deathstar or Olaf doing the GoTG playset.

At least from what I read you can use all the star wars figures on all the star wars playsets which is an improvement over last year.

Something I have trouble with is leveling the 1.0 statues in 2.0. without being able to use them in playsets it is tough to get alot of exp. I know some folks have instructions on how to create toyboxes that have these like exp machines that create constant exp. That kind of takes the fun out of it. Any particular toyboxes that are good for exp? Hero's Duty is ok.

You can, but I believe that you still have to collect crossover coins in order to do that.

Your 1.0 characters level should carry over to 2.0

3.0 Announcements from D23:

New Figures:
Peter Pan
Spot (From The Good Dinosaur)
Judy (From Zootopia)
Nick (From Zootopia)
Finn (From The Force Awakens)
Rey (From The Force Awakens)

The Good Dinosaur will also have a Power Disc Pack.

Marvel Playset will be called "Marvel Battlegrounds". All Marvel figures will be playable in it.

There will be a collector's line of Star Wars figures, called the Light FX series, where the lightsabers light up when you place them on the base (similar to Skylanders "Light Core" figures). Line includes: Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan, Yoda, and Kanan.

Magic Bands from from Disney Parks will unlock the Mickey and Walt statue

Disney Cruise goers will be able to unlock exclusive content, including the Cruise ship.

Collecting all the 3.0 figures will unlock Sora's Keyblade, from Kingdom Hearts

Also, everyone in attendance at the event received a Mickey Kingdom Hearts costume power disc. This disc is supposed to be exclusive to the convention, so expect to pay big bucks for it if you want one.

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

thanks for the info.

I got a couple of figures this weekend at TRU with the buy one get one 40% off. I finally have all of the GotG statues with my purchase of Drax. I also got the crystal Buzz Lightyear. I wish it wasn't crystal, but it is Buzz so I am happy. All I need is Falcon to have all the Marvel statues. I don't plan on getting all the 2.0 Disney Originals....I have gotten who I want minus Maleficent maybe. If I could play them in a playset, things would be different. I have Donald, Baymax, Hiro, Merida, Stitch.

I have my SW starter pack and obi-wan figure pre-ordered from Amazon. Do we know when Darth Maul will be out? He is the main guy I want out of all the figures.

OY, i don't even want to think about the amount of money in this infinity stuff. I never thought I would get into it so much. However, I haven't paid full price but for maybe 3 or 4. I have gotten the rest on sale or cheap on ebay. don't see how people do it who buy skylanders and infinity. Lego dimensions will be very tempting but i am going to stay away.

Question:

The little digital card that comes with the statues -- can it be sold on ebay? Or is it attached to my account once I put my statue on the portal? I don't plan on playing on the PC, it would be nice to recoup a few dollars from these cards. Thanks!

Yes, people sell and trade the digital codes.

COOL. So it won't f**k up my account?

Hailey G 08-17-15 02:17 PM

Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker

It only gets tied to anything once you have entered the code on the web, it's not tied to the figure. If you haven't done that, you're free to deal the codes.
