Re: Disney Infinity - Disney's Infinite Moneymaker
Gave my kids most of the 2.0 figures and some of the 1.0 figures for Easter this past weekend. They love it of course. But, I have to say I'm kind of disappointed in Toy Box mode and the whole compatibility issue. I know which figures go with each playset and when I have to use Toy Box mode, but try repeatedly explaining the reason to 3 through 7 year olds (or worse, your wife!).
My boys will be playing as Thor/Iron Man in the Avengers playset then, when it is my girls turn, they want to play as Elsa/Anna, so I have to back out of Avengers and load up a Toy Box level. Plus, I'm on the 360 so the loading times for some Toy Box levels can be long and I haven't found any good ones yet where they can just mess around. Furthermore, why can't Spidey or Nick Fury play in Avengers! They are/were both Avengers, heck Fury is more affiliated with Avengers than Spidey anyway.
I knew the shortfalls going in to my Infinity spending spree however I just wish it worked liked Skylanders where there are no restrictions.
Any rumors on 3.0? Obviously, it will be Star Wars based, but do you think they will keep the functionality (or lack thereof) the same?

cool, you are a 360 player?? Please add me -- Grey Wolf Sif is gamertag
I admit, not being able to use all the figures in the playsets kinda sucks, but it is what it is. The toybox levels i have downloaded lately are pretty good. I still need to give making a level a shot, but i am about as creative as this paper clip on my desk and it is quite overwhelming

The toy box confused me and the kids at first, but once they got the hang of how to build things, toy box mode is pretty much all they want to play. I give them empty toy boxes and let them go crazy. Occasionally they'll ask me to put a playset on, but 99% of the time it's toy box.
I'd rather play a straightforward game, which is why I kinda like Skylanders more than DI, but they can't get enough of it.
For reference, I have 3 girls, ages 4, 5, and 5. Two of them are very girly and the other is not at all, but they all play this together and enjoy it (except when they're fighting over which two of them get to play).

I think there is some overlap in the playsets as long as you collect the 10 character coins (which sucks that they all can't overlap). Nick Fury and Rocket Raccoon overlap into Avengers , Hulk and Iron Man overlap into Spider-Man , Iron Man and Nova go into the Gaurdains playset.

I don't think Nick Fury crosses over.
Avengers crossovers -- Nova, Rocket Raccoon
Spidey crossover -- Hulk, Iron Man
Guardians crossovers -- Nova, Iron Man

I'm down to 4 power discs needed to complete my collection. If anyone has any of these 4 that they'd be interested in trading, PM me (they are all 2.0 Disney Originals discs):
Neverland
Second Star to the Right
The Middle Kingdom
Gravity Falls Sky

So this is making the rounds today:

Not sure if it's real, but it seems to come from some sort of Chinese shopping site.
Here's the link to the Mickey listing at the site: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...c_location=ufi

My kid only has an interest in the Marvel stuff for the 2.0 but the Tron figures may suck him back in.

The Tron figures will actually likely be playable in 2.0. They were released as digital only characters for iOS and PC platforms earlier this year. Makes sense that they're in the game, even if we can't unlock them on a console yet.

The hot rumor for 3.0 is Star Wars. I would be surprised if we didn't get some new Marvel figures too though.
EDIT: Also, I don't know if the images are still visible (the site that they are hosted on is blocked at work, so they're broken for me in either case), but the story I linked to above was pulled due to requests from Disney Interactive, which makes it seem like it's legit.

Hope we get those Tron figures in physical form. Mulan good too for my girls. They are really pushing that new Pixar movie.

you would think there would be some x-men figures released. i thought it was bizarre that wolverine didn't make it out in 2.0
I am certainly hyped up for some star wars figures and some fun playsets

If they put out any fun playsets then I will be interested. 2.0 took the fun out of it for me.

I don't know if we'll get any X-men. Marvel seems to be downplaying all the characters that don't own the movie rights to, or at least the ones owned by Fox. They were generally playing nice with Sony even before Spidey was allowed into the MCU.

i am wondering if we do get Infinity star wars will it focus on the new movie characters more? Disney 2.0 focused on the Guardians of the Galaxy cast moreso with 7 figures

I think that's what they will do. It makes the most sense since 3.0 will be out around same time as the new movie and follows past precedent with Guardians.

I'd think it would be a mix of old and new (I'd also love some muppets too )

We will probably get multiple playsets for the different eras of Star Wars. I still hate the locked down playsets though. The fun of these kind of games is putting any character in any situation. If I want to have Mickey and Captain America fight Darth Vader, then damnit, why shouldn't I be allowed to?

In case anyone is still looking to pick up any of the 2.0 figures or power discs, Target has a 40% off Cartwheel coupon on all DI 2.0 items excluding accessories like carrying cases. Target has quite a few of their figures cheaper online than in store. I was able to pm their site today and use the Cartwheel coupon to get Ronan and Yondu for
