Read any comments section for any article on any website. Instead of being 100% anti-MS, people are getting sick of some of the stuff Sony is doing and/or not doing. MS on the other hand is keeping things fresh and releasing lots of good videos and info almost daily.
Knowing when they can buy their consoles? Not having to figure out if there is room in their closets for a mandatory $100 camera? |

Major Nelson came out for the MS presentation, handed out two mics, and asked the group what did they want to know about the One. No bullshit, straight up Q&A. Sony's was a glorified highlight reel where it was non-stop videos. |

Believe what you want, but MS will almost certainly take first place again the generation, and thankfully for Nintendo shooting themselves, Sony will hold on to second. Once the consoles launch and are out for a while, people will see that the Xbox has a lot more to offer in the long run, despite early "mistakes". I still believe that playing BluRay was the main reason the PS3 sold probably half of their units, and now that is no longer in their favor. I'm officially done arguing about which system is better etc etc etc and will only post relevant information. You and chess (still sure you guys are the same) can continue to get super excited about F2P PC ports and budget indie titles ;) /drops mic |

Is there something we should know? |

One could argue there are more questions about the One. I think Sony has done a great job of saying "here's our console, here's the price, here's when it comes out, here are some games." As much as I trust Matt's fair and balanced objectivity, and as much as I admire his ability to find a silver lining in every cloud, here's a transcript of the Q&A: http://raptr.com/igrChief/news/5220f...-gamestop-expo And here's a pirate video of the Sony event. There isn't anything new really but they do show some new AC footage, so it's kind of a pirate video of a pirate video. The sound cuts in and out during the intro music to avoid copyright issues. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/1HVuinq4g7A" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Draw your own conclusions about which position you'd rather be in. |

Off screen Ryse: Son of Rome footage from PAX this weekend.

The hit detection is just...and I think they want you to push A. |

Point being, people hear what they want to hear. We chose to hear two different messages this summer and there's nothing wrong with that. You enjoy your box and I'll enjoy mine. But to come in with doom and gloom "the tide is turning" and "people are disappointed about PS4" without a shred of evidence is just silly. The only reason why it seems the tide is turning is because X1 was dead in the water six weeks ago. Now it's slightly less so. |

It really comes down to Sony being too cocky and thinking they already won mixed with the fact that they still have nothing of real interest announced. Heck, they still don't have things running on retail kits (unless PAX changed that) whereas MS does despite their made up reports of console manufacturing problems and them not being ready to ship. |

Agreed for the most part, the idea that people are disappointed in the PS4 is ridiculous hyperbole. The tide is far from turning as far as the One leading the way anytime soon this launch, but I do get the impression that more then a few people are starting to warm to some of the One's features. I do think they're doing better then just "less slightly" above being dead in the water though.

Ryse looks like a good game at about $10 a year after launch to play, or a rental at best.

I was surprised that he was more enamored with the Xbox One, but mainly because of the TV/Cable intergration with the system. A feature I'm not really psyched for, as I don't see myself turning the Xbox One on every time I just want to watch TV. He did say that the switching between playing a game, exiting to watch TV, then going back to the game was really seamless, and fast. The other standouts for him were Watch Dogs, and Dead Rising 3 which he says looked amazing. I still currently have a pre-order on both systems, but can only grab one at launch. I wish I knew the release date of the Xbox One, although I don't know that a week or two earlier/later would make a difference. |

Well... time to cancel the preorder for Ryse.

MS is still in damage control mode. They have to get out there and do Q&A with people because their message has been FUBAR all summer. Sony has sold their console to the core gamer this summer. They're just in a holding pattern until it's time to market it to the masses prior to launch. I'm not sure how that can be construed as cocky. |

With Sony, as much as I like their support of indies, I can't help but feel there is too much focus on them right now. |
Re: What console are you buying at launch? (Post MS180 Edition)
I know a bunch of people (some of them own an Xbox) who plan to buy a PS4, not necessarily at launch but in the medium term. Why? "It's cheaper and I don't need a camera". As simple as that. Hardcore gamers make the mistake of thinking that everybody buying a console is a hardcore gamer. A whole bunch of people including me don't give a hoot about what so and so said at some conference or who tweeted what when. Nor do they know or care about "Titanfall" being an Xbox exclusive...

Some good news for X1:
All of its launch exclusives are in the top 40 preorders (wasn't the case a few weeks ago), and although PS4 maintains an overall lead, X1's overall standing for preorders has improved a bit as well. Note that this is U.S. only. USA Pre-Order Chart Week Ending 24th Aug 2013 Pos - Game - Weeks To Launch - Weekly Change - Total 5. Battlefield 4 (PS4) - 12 - 2,771 - 246,965 7.
