I always thought Galaga (I just rewatched The Avengers) was Galaxian on steroids--I didn't realize it was an actual sequel.

And with Galaxian, a lot of other games opened up to me that came from Japan. I could never find a Moon Cresta machine here on the mainland.

I played that a couple of times in arcades growing up in South Texas, not that I remember much about it but the title.

Re: Retro-Arcade Sheep - Hyper Warp Edition

I wonder how Geoff is doing and if he's still in Atlanta?

Looks like 24 players is all we'll get, I've started scoring, but it's no big deal if people stagger in over the weekend. But I will cut it off Sunday at 12:00 noon PT.

I waited till after I submitted my answers, which is like the worst possible strategy.

So, how is the worst part of being a sheepmaster going?

Re: Retro-Arcade Sheep - Hyper Warp Edition

Not sure how I'll fair. My answers are mainly games from my local places. I'm a product of the 80's, so I was pretty much done at the arcade once the button mashing fight games came around. Of those, only really played Pit Fighter. My answers skewed toward the early 80s.

Starcade.... lol

Barely recall it from when I was a kid but did like seeing the reruns during the early days of G4.

Re: Retro-Arcade Sheep - Hyper Warp Edition

Let’s begin, contestants! By the way, the Sheep Master has played every game mentioned in this sheep game! He has no life.

01. S: Name the most popular vector based game.

A vector based game is one which uses a vector monitor to display vector graphics. There weren’t many, but let’s see what our contestants came up with.

Here are some that weren’t chosen by the sheep.

Spoiler:

Star Castle

Lunar Lander

Red Baron

So what were the answers from the sheep? Let’s take a look...

Spoiler:

Space Invaders

ruddiger_718 0

Which is a pixelated game, not vector based... but there are no wrong sheep answers. So what was a correct answer?

Spoiler:

Oops... I meant...

Spoiler:

Tempest

Drexl -2
Rob V. {sd} -4

Spoiler:

Battlezone

cdollaz -2
davidh777 -2

So there are only two left... which outer space adventure was most popular?

Spoiler:

Asteroids

Dave Ninja -13
ivelostr2 -13
Jcheckel -13
jdpatri -13
orangecrush -13
rocket1312 -13
RTorres481 -13
Shannon Nutt -13
Todd B. -13
wishbone -13
cnicholls44 {sd} -26
Obi-wan Jabroni {sd} -26
fumanstan {sd}{sd} -39

Spoiler:

Sorry, but the Force wasn’t strong enough for this choice.

Star Wars

Crocker Jarman -7
cruzness -7
dfmaverick2 -7
Krayzie -7
Liver & Onions -7
Rockmjd23 {sd}{sd} -21
shumway {sd}{sd} -21

You would think a dvd forum would choose the game based on a movie!
