That's quite the surge since the bank was 12K. I got the bank yesterday afternoon and am still short of 18K. :)

Hacks most likely. Either hacking the donuts to buy the prizes or hacking the event currency. Sometimes people will even collect the currencies that haven't unlocked yet.

Obviously I don't make use of hacks since that answer never occurs to me even when it's the most logical.

Yeah, i managed to get onto the game a lot yesterday. Standing at around 23,000 as of this morning, but now i am going to the two times a day max visiting for a week or two. I woke up at 2am and found the wife in bed next to me playing the game. We are both really competitive on this game. She somehow always does better than me on the game.

rotfl Yeah, I don't think you'll ever be able to catch up with her at that rate. Have you added all your DVDTalk friends at least?

I'm at 23K as well. I wish some of these quests were longer.

Just hit 21,000, hoping for The Collector tomorrow, for sure by Sunday.

If they have to restrict payouts from neighbor visits, I'm glad they restrict how often we can help ourselves (tapping criminals) but not how often we can help others (reporting crimes).

I just earned the Collector!

Spoiler:
and the Collector's first prize!

Spoiler:
It takes up so... much... space.... :jawdrop:

^I survived your purge  and just added her.

I'm making good progress on the prizes but have serious doubts about the Collector's prizes. Even if they last past the second issue, the items are really slow to acquire. Both the handcuffs and capes are max three per day unless they speed them up somehow.

I still don't have the Collector yet...it's taking me forever to get these prizes...

Got the collector this morning.

And yeah, I don't think I will be able to get all his prizes.

I would imagine that the crafting is designed to be doable, if you play often. With a little bit of angst loaded into the front to push some people into spending donuts.

Oh no worries. I really dunno what happened to me this event because usually I'm on top of it and keeping pace but this is the first one I feel like I'm falling behind. I must've just missed a day or so of consistent tapping and visiting neighbors. That'll definitely do it.

I just hit 19,916 Pie Bombs though, so hopefully I can get to the Collector by Tuesday or Wednesday

If anyone sees this and hasn't added me as a friend yet my username is kwstub and I'd appreciate the add. I'll try to add some more people too as that might help me get my numbers up quicker.

For what it's worth, aside from not getting anymore land I really like this event so far.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Well i am just under 40,000 pies now and i am making my way towards Dr. Colossus. Almost 8 days before the next issue, so will make it there easy. Also on my way to crafting a few of the new craft items. By the end of the week should have most of them. The wife of course already had a couple of them. Within a couple of days she had the Zenith City Times which i find amazing as she needed 100 lockpicks. She is crazy addicted to this game. I am also close to buying my last/only one missing $10 million item from the inventory.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'm right around 40,000 too, then I'm going to focus on racking up the free donuts so I'll have enough for the Bartman skin.

I only need 13, so it should be doable.

Raul3 03-02-15 02:37 PM

How do you get the Bartman skin?

bippitty 03-02-15 05:43 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Bartman is supposed to be in the files at 60 donuts. Claimed to be available tomorrow.

I'm currently at 48K pie bombs, 72 lockpicks, 11 capes, six handcuffs, and 69 phones. I'm not sure why I'm earning more capes than handcuffs considering both should generate at the rate of one per eight hours, though obviously the handcuffs take another 9-12 hours to actually collect. I have two in play right now, which will even out the numbers a bit more. So I can't get anything yet (I'm ignoring the phone booth and store front for now). Since the apartments and lofts don't share any items, I could conceivably get both of those independently, but both would set me back for trying to get the Times. I suppose if I were a real nerd I'd matrix out the items and prizes, but I think I'll just see how it goes.

Interestingly, the Collector task checklist includes the store front but not the Times.

The prison regenerates in 8 hours, the HQ regenerates in 4 hours.

I have no land to get in to this, I am way behind and will have no chance to get caught up. If I had the land I would be all over this, sadly for the lack of land I might have to end playing this game.

Stupid Simpsons!

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I unlocked Bartman this morning, so I guess the timed release speculation for him was right.

This Collector phase is going to be a photo finish for me if I don't use donuts. I'm a pretty diligent player, but at best I'm finishing only two felon fights a day. I anticipate making my first Zenith city building tomorrow. Dr. Colossus will definitely be appearing before I gather enough Collector stuff to complete all of the buildings. (I'm skipping the phone booths for now, too.)

Does it seem to anyone else that the game is now playing fast and loose with the arbitrarium? It seems like it's doling it out more frequently than it used to. Of course I may just be comparing its rate of appearing with that of the lockpicks.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I need more felons, by the end of the day I only have one. I'm jealous of the people that can have 3 or more at a time.

I mean, I could use donuts, but what's the fun on that? ;)

davidh777 03-03-15 12:51 PM

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The rotating sky restaurant is cool but I don't think I'm going to spend the donuts on it.

Not sure of the math. You have two characters to fight the felons? They should be releasing every eight hours, then take 12 hours to defeat. But maybe you're not available to release them that often.

I think I should get Dr. Colossus today, and might have enough for a Zenith building or two. I guess I'll focus on the Collector tasks for now and leave the Times till later.

I haven't noticed the rate. I wish we could get more capes when we upgrade the HQ.

Raul3 03-03-15 02:37 PM

Right now I have 4 characters to fight felons: the sidekick, Homer, Plopper/spider pig (premium) and CBG. And I just got Bartman. So that should be 5.
