My Titan is a hair away from 370. I've been using Motes and Marks to level up the faction and last couple of times have got some good gear. Plus I had (2) Blue Engrams decode at Exotics and that helped....
....I got two ghosts at 369 and 371, a new Thunderlord at 371, Helm at 370 and a few higher Class Armor items in the Forge. I went in to help sme friends in CoE last night and no use doing that anymore...my rewards capped at 365. I've been putting away a lot of Rare and Legendary engrams and decoding several at once but even now that's almost useless with getting a Strange Coin or Motes is just as good since everything is 365 or 364. ....I heard this from a friend who follows a lot of "special ways" to level up and he said what some are doing is grab a bunch of ToC, head to that last story mission in RoI and pop ToC on each separate boss, don't trigger the last part, jump off the bridge and that last section will run again. They'll do that, grab a bunch of higher Exotics and infuse them into Legendary. ...the other thing is to do some of the SIVA Strikes not on Heroic but Easy(?) and fly thru them to get the Skeleton Keys.....Right now it's the Faction and Vanguard along with the Gunsmith that I can rely on getting higher gear. |

Ranking up the queen also does this, but she only has armor. The real downside with that is the lack of ways to rank up the queen outside of the 3 weekly bounties and etheric light. Overall, the best way to rank up is through factions and vanguard packages, while hoping you get a good artifact somewhere. Doing Shiro's bounties and quest every week nets you at the very least 3000 Vanguard rep and 1500 faction rep. That doesn't even include all the rep you earn in completing those. Just the 15 patrol missions is around 700 rep. Ranking the factions up also gets you coins and motes that can be used for ranking up factions (buying heavy from Xur with coins, or using motes straight up). But also Buzz, at your level, you're raid ready. |

Interesting find.
Do you have leftover horns from SRL? The blue ones you can no longer equip? Guess what, you can turn all of them into legendary horns and use them again. If you got the Gjallar Horn for pre-ordering Rise Of Iron, you can break it down and get a Horn Relay, which lets you turn any of those leftover blue horns into purple. You can then grab another Gjallar Horn from the sparrow kiosk and repeat the process until you've put them on all your blue horns. I don't know if this advice has spread anywhere, as I just did it by accident when I grabbed a second Gjallar Horn on a character and deleted it. You can even keep breaking down the Gjallar horns just to stockpile horn relays for the next SRL, as I'm sure at some point they'll patch this out. |

Yea...I'm plugging along on the Bounties, both Tower and RoI and slowly getting a few better items. I just take all my high level gear, load it on and then grab the reward and hope I get something I need and better. Its become a "Good & Bad" case but I'm literally overwhelmed with "Class Armor" items I'm getting from Eris, Vanguard, Faction and drops. I have more cloaks than a garment factory. I break them down along with the flood or 365 Legendary I get constantly, grab stuff like Iron, sell it to the faction and slowly move up. But like you mentioned with the RoI, I get some marks and usually two legendary which doesn't give me anything I actually need. And we still haven't seen a Skeleton King...well I got one at the start...but between three of us we haven't seen one since. Just where and how often do these drop? The one I had I actually got two Legendary over 365 that helped. And the Forge...you do get Class Armor stuff over 365 but that doesn't help with weapons and other armor. ...and yea, I've thought about grabbing my Titan and seeing about a spot on the Raid Team....my butt is still hurting and palm still sweating from The Taken King Raid.....so I'm sure someone will need to guide me and hold my hand...again....going thru. I still have avoided any YouTube stuff on seeing what it is. |

OK folks, some interesting news on the Xur front this week. He's got a brand new item and also an old feature has returned from the grave.
Xur is located in the same place he was last week. North Tower at the end down past the speaker. I hope it stays like this all weekend, and maybe this will be a regular feature for Xur, offering good engrams some weeks in place of the legacy ones. Time will tell. For the Titan, it's the Mk. 44 Stand Asides. Like Shoulder Charge? If so, you're a douche. These make you even more of a douche! For the Hunter, it's the Bones Of Eao. Would you like an extra jump? I would! For the Warlock, it's the original classic, Sunbreakers. 2 long lasting Solar grenades. Perfect for the raid bosses with touch of flame and viking funeral. The weapon this week is the Trespasser sidearm. This is a Xur debut and one of only 2 new exotic weapons Xur can sell (along with the Nemesis Star). This sidearm is a burst fire weapon and is pretty fun to use. It also has ornaments. Speaking of which, here are the ornaments this week: Moonglow for Hawkmoon. Black and gold. Pearl handle with Ace Of Spades. Sexy sexy beast. Storm's Reproach for Invective. Want a gun that looks like it's about to explode? Here ya go. And that'll do it for this week. When it comes to matters of investment and progression, our Live Team looks to Senior Designer Victoria Dollbaum. She’s the foremost authority on how the Engrams you find in the Plaguelands behave when you deliver them to the Archivist. Victoria: On October 18th, corresponding with the release of Heroic Mode for Wrath of the Machine, your Maximum Light will be increased to 400. With this increase, many reward sources will also increase their maximum Light. Strike Hoards, Nightfall, Exotic Engrams, Trials of Osiris, Crucible, and Iron Banner will now provide rewards up to 400 Light. Archon’s Forge, the Heroic SIVA Strike playlist, and Legendary Engrams will now provide rewards up to 385 Light. Rare Engrams and the SIVA Strike Playlist will now provide rewards up to 365 Light. The recommended Light for these activities will remain the same with the exception of Nightfall, which will be increased to a recommended light of 380. For those striving to reach Heroic Wrath of the Machine or even attempt their first run at Normal Wrath of the Machine, players should find more paths and options available to them to reach the recommended Light. For players forging their path through Wrath of the Machine, Trials of Osiris, and Iron Banner, these activities will now attempt to reward higher Light on average, compared to your current Light. Artifacts and Ghosts were dropping from fewer sources than intended and have been added as Archon’s Forge completion rewards. These items will now drop up to 400 Light. In Faction Packages, the rate at which Ghosts are rewarded has been increased. Likewise, the rate of artifacts from Eris’ Faction Packages have been increased. That’s just a preview of what you’ll find in 2.4.1. Deployment begins at approximately 10AM Pacific on Tuesday, October 18th. We were talking about this upcoming patch last night and it's about time....we're feeling like moving up is like wading thru quicksand....
Three of us did six Heroic Strikes last night....two at 350 and four at 320. We all popped Three of Coins......that's 18 chances......we got two Skeleton Keys and one Exotic... .....with the changes coming up on the Legendary items light level, I would assume any you have on hand will be effected? |

I assume those 35 strange coins are over 3 guardians? There is no way you can pop 35 strange coins on one guardian and not have an exotic drop. The average is 6-9 before one drops.
All of us that are 370+ did so by running Iron Banner and running the Raid multiple times every week. Iron banner got me from the upper 370's to 386 from playing a few hours per character. Class items, gauntlets, primary and secondary weapons were dropping every 2-3 matches. You'll have no problem hitting 385 after tomorrow's update, but you'll run into the same problem trying to get to 400 unless you take part in those activities. |

I can't disagree. If you want to hit 400 you will need to partake in end game content. Raids and IB. Gotta agree about Iron Banner being really generous. I got so much stuff for infusion and I really didn't spend that much time in IB. Great part about it it is the gear that was dropping was pretty good on it's own. I love the shotgun, sniper rifle and especially the Machine gun. The Auto rifle was crap but I got a ton to use for infusing a variety of primary weapons. Just about all the armor that was dropping had better stats than the stuff I already had (if you were paying attention - tier 12). The two best artifacts I had drop came from IB.
Also don't forget about the Sepskis Perfected Strike which was still dropping higher level gear than 365. |

The light level increase does not go into effect until the HM Raid releases in a few hours. DO NOT grab any packages or decrypt anything until then or else you'll get screwed.
