Thankfully with all this new activity around Skywatch I was finally able to finish those Urn quest on both my Hunter/Titan. Now that stupid elimination point is gone, and I can keep that extra spot open for bountys

Some highlights:

Trials Of Osiris primary weapons can apparently switch between each of the three damage types. So basically you can use the same weapon on any burn, like the Murmur.

The Hunter Exotic armor all went through name changes, and one had a major perk change. The Hunter Helmet now gives you one golden Gun shot, but does 6 times the damage and keyhole. Could be interesting against certain enemies as it would basically make the super work like other supers. Anyone that uses it in PVP would just be an idiot.

The Warlock Exotic armor has changed perks. The Ram was going to be the sunsinger helmet that disoriented enemies when you came back from death. That's now been given to the Purifier Robes. The Ram is now a Voidwalker helmet with an Armor boost and melee hits triggering Life Steal. I think the Nothing Manacles used to give you a bonus shield when doing void damage, but now it's an extra scatter grenade (the crappiest Warlock Grenade).

The Exotic Wire Rifle is actually a Fusion Rifle, but can switch between normal Fusion and Sniper modes. Very interesting.

Looks like the POE primaries might have the elemental switching as well. There are two versions of the primaries, ones without elemental damage, and then a second version. I'm guessing the second versions are given out on the Level 35 POE. Actually now that I read it again, looks like there are two versions of the TOO primaries as well. The Adept ones will probably be part of the rewards you get for 9 wins.

Iron Banner will have a brand new set of Armor for each character. So great news for all of us who worked our asses off for the original set!

They gave us two options for armor before, like the same piece with different rolls. Maybe they'll offer the two looks side by side.


EDIT: Small tidbit: The queen's bounties unlock at 10AM Pacific. That's when the Day 5 bounty came available, and I imagine the Day 6 one will as well tomorrow.

Not sure how it will all work beyond this week and next. Maybe it will match up with the normal reset at some point.

I'm just thinking that weapons where you can choose element damage would be a worthy prize for the 9 win tier in TOO or Level 35 Prison Of Elders. Random elements would make them too much like vendor weapons.

Question - those of you at around level 30 - how many total hours of playtime would you say it took you to get there?

Getting to near max level isn't very time consuming. Totally guessing here as I haven't had to level a character in a while, but maybe 20-30 hours?

8-10 hours for level 20 and 10+ to grind faction/marks/coins and experience to purchase and level gear. Keep in mind you can only earn 200 marks per week so that will limit you as well. If you get HoW, you'll be able to level to 33 via vendor gear.

Honestly, the most time consuming part is waiting for RNGesus to bless you with the armor and weapons you want.

Jesus, really? Then what the fuck am I doing wrong? I'm at around 60 hours, and can't get past level 27 - I've gone about 10 hours just from 26 to 27. I'm doing everything I can too - strikes, crucibles, bounties, etc. The only thing I haven't done are raids, and nightfalls, since they don't have matchmaking and I can't find people to do them the same time as me.

I would say you need to do some of the raids to get gear with higher light level.

Folks on her are pretty good about banging out a raid with someone that needs help doing it to get them some better gear (although it may be tough for a couple weeks with the DLC dropping tomorrow)

I use DestinyLFG.com when I need to find a nonDagger group. Been pretty successful using this site.

I am at level 27 too and the rest of Daggers helped me through my first raid recently.

The problem with leveling without raids or strikes is that the materials you need (like ascendant shards) are hard to come by on patrol. You occasionally get them from public events but farming enough to upgrade all your armor is almost a non-starter that way.

My first raid I got quite a few shards (would have preferred armor bungie!).

And that's the thing with the new gear tomorrow: none of it uses shards/energy.

All you'll need to max it out is one Etheric Light, and whatever other materials (i.e. the class material (plasteel plating, hadronic essence, sapphire wire) and planetary material (spinmetal, et al)), glimmer, and XP.
