Re: Saints Row 4

So it's still not as good as SR2? Hopefully it's better than 3.

Re: Saints Row 4

Played for about five hours. So far i like it a lot more than 3. They fixed the activities where I actually wanna do them all. Ran across a few glitches but nothing game breaking yet. The orb collecting is oddly fun. Cars are basically useless with the super jump and sprint being awesome to get from point A to Point B. Don't like the whole game is set during night. Graphics are okay. It doesn't bother me the re-use of the city. Movie sequels re-use sets and props all the time.

I agree with it being better than the last one and I have only played 45 mins or so. Could have done without the

Well, that first mission was quite absurd.

Rented it from the Red Box intending to play it for a few days. Will return it tomorrow and buy it.

The game is just cracking me up and it is the first game since Crackdown that gave me that exhilarating feel while navigating a city.

Re: Saints Row 4

A few more impressions:

I like it a lot so far. I'm sure GTA V will blow it out of the water, but it'll be fine until then. Or will it? I have put in three and a half hours and it says I am 15% done.

The super powers are fun. I can only run faster and jump faster now. The weapons are funny.

One thing that I hate is the
Spoiler:
climbing towers.
The guy that made the suggestion to add that part to the game should be dragged into the street and shot, and then run over a few times.

Oh and again, it's so much better than part three. We'll pretend that one didn't exist.

Re: Saints Row 4

I remember when GTA4 came out and Saints Row 3 was released at the same time. I bought both and thought GTA was probably a better game - but SR still snagged all my time because it was just so unabashedly fun.

I may skip GTAV at release simply because I imagine I will be having so much fun with SRIV and then the new consoles are just around the corner.

I was however, unable to figure out a way to import my SR3 character into the new one which bummed me out a little.

Saints Row 3 came out 3 and a half years after GTA4. Maybe you're thinking of SR2? That was released in the same year as GTA4, though still 6 months apart.

You have to go into SR3 and upload your character, then go to saintsrow.com and give your character a name, make it public, and add it to your queue. Then you can go into SR4 and download it. You also need to create an account on saintsrow.com if you don't have one already.

Mis-remembering of course.

I had an account and assumed it would pull my character from my HDD a la Mass Effect. Not a gigantic deal though since I already have a few hours logged on the new one with a new character.

That's a shame, if you're looking forward to playing it.

Doesn't bother me. It's clearly a better game and I remember nothing about SR3's map anyway.

Re: Saints Row 4

Started the game on a rental disc. Bought it this evening and it had the online pass code and the code for some DLC. Ended the code in the marketplace and it said it downloaded... But where do I find it? I think it was an outfit, gun, and a plane maybe?

Re: Saints Row 4

Never mind. Found it. After like5 hours I got to a point where it is available.

Another question though. Are there hideouts you can parade somewhere that I am missing?

There's a few missions that take place outside of the city.

Honestly besides the graphical improvement The Cities in SR 1-4 all look the same to me. The city is just there for the missions and nothing more.

I think the Hideout in this one is the Spaceship. I could be wrong though as I'm only a few hours in.
