Tell me about it. The deals you can get on PC games are incredible. I should have gotten in to PC gaming years ago

I spend less and less on these each year, because it's always the same games.

This is my mindset whenever the next big Steam sale is coming up, and I fail miserably every single time.

Meh nothing much so far..the publisher bundles are a little high 89.99

THQ bundle at 24.99 is nice, but I picked up several of those titles during the Humble bundle.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale (12/20 - 1/4/13)

F.E.A.R. 3 $4.99
F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin $3.74
F.E.A.R. 2: Reborn (DLC) $2.49
F.E.A.R. $2.49

Are these F.E.A.R. games worth playing? I'm just getting back into PC gaming so I don't mind older games as long as they are decent FPS.

Is Darksiders II worth $13.59? Or should I just stick with the first game (which I got in the Humble Bundle)?

I ADORE the original FEAR. That game is still amazing. Played it for the first time this year on the 360 and thought it holds up remarkably well.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale (12/20 - 1/4/13)

Not steam, but the D&D anthology collection (Baldurs Gate 1&2 + expansion, Icewind Dale 1 & 2, Planescape Torment, and Temple of Elemental Evil) is 9.98 at gamersgate:

Anyone know if these games will ever likely show up on steam?

I've been good so far.

Universe Sandbox and Chivalry: Medieval Warfare have been my only purchases.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale (12/20 - 1/4/13)

I think I've finally hit a saturation point with Steam, as I have bought a grand total of three games since the sale started. That's not to say I've run out of games I want to get, it's just that most games have fallen under the categories of "Don't care" or "Would like to get, but when I finally get around to playing it, it will probably be even cheaper." Not to mention that Amazon and other digital game sites (Green Man Gaming, Gamefly, etc.) are occasionally giving Steam a run for their money this year.

So, barring some awesome sale in the next week, this is my grand haul:

- SimCity 4 ($4.99)
- Ys Origin ($4.99)
- Retro City Rampage ($7.50)

And from Amazon, which I'm counting since I registered these games on Steam:

- Lego Lord of the Rings ($7.50)
- Batman: Arkham City - GOTY Edition ($7.50)
- Sleeping Dogs ($17.50)

So $50 for 6 games. Kind of a paltry ratio compared to past holiday sales, but I'm pretty happy with what I got, and I may actually be able to play these prior to the next major sale (have already sunk 9 hours into Sleeping Dogs).

Though I got Saints Row The Third in the Humble Bundle, I got the full pack off of steam cos it was $7.49 for all the DLC.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale (12/20 - 1/4/13)

Yeah, I bought it in the Humble Bundle.

Then I bought it again as part of the THQ bundle.

Then I bought it yet again for all the DLC.

Plus I still have it on the 360...

Too bad they don't give you most duplicate things as gifts so you can give them to others.

Oh, c'mon. You know if they released a new version of the game with nothing new but a different sticker on the shrinkwrap, you'd just have to have it.

That would be great. A real shame they don't do exactly that.

Re: Steam Holiday Sale (12/20 - 1/4/13)

I wish there were less repeats between the daily deals and the flash deals. I would love to see them differentiate the two. Maybe the daily deals are all the recent big name games and the flash sales are the older games on the cheap. There are a lot of older games that aren't hits that I would like to pick up on the cheap, but it seems like they are almost forgotten or neglected, while some newer games are on sale multiple in different forms.

Oh man, let us know what you think (find my old Chivalry thread, no one else responded). This was my GOTY by FAR. So much fun, although it helps I am among the best people playing it - the top player in literally every single game I play (yes I'm bragging about video game skills). I'm still trying to figure out video capture software so I can make a Chivalry Mash-up video of some of my 20 person kill streaks.

Good call on SC4. Still the best city builder out there ten (!!) years later. Outstanding modding scene out there too. People do pretty incredible things with their cities in that game, even SC 5 won't be able to compare.

Also, for any city builder fans, Tropico 4 has a huge sale going on now, 80% off. Not the best game ever, but certainly worth it at that price. I picked up the expansion for $4!! (OP $20).
