I started playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate today. This is my first MH game and am totally confused. I didn't realize how deep and complicated the game would be!

Yep, I played the demo and was like WTF is the point?

Ok so I decided to take the plunge and get the Wii U bundle that comes with Mario U and Luigi U. I have a Wii that I haven't used in over a year but for some reason started to check out some videos of Mario World 3D and the HD version of Zelda and felt nostalgic.

I'm probably going to get Nintendoland, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, and Mario World 3D is there any sleeper titles I should look at? I never played Pikmin 1 or 2......

The main reason I got it is because it appears the Wii U focuses on putting out games with local MP in mind and even though my kids are 17 and 15 it seems I can get them into more family time gaming with games like Mario Kart and Mario themed games than anything on other consoles.

So what should I get???

You don't need to have played Pikmin 1 or 2 to play 3. I highly recommend it. One of my favorite franchises and Pikmin 3 is my favorite game on the system.

Rayman Legends is a really terrific platformer.

Since you're into local multiplayer (me too!), check out Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. It's a terrific arcade racer, and even better, you can have two people playing together without any split-screen. (One can race on your TV while the other's on the gamepad.) You get split-screen with more than two players, of course. That's a huge selling point for me, anyway! It has the added benefit of being pretty inexpensive too.

Pikmin 3 stands on its own, and this is coming from someone who never played the first two either. It took me a while to get used to the pace -- I wanted to spend more time leisurely exploring, and it felt like the days ended too quickly -- but it's an endless joy once I settled into that rhythm.

I agree with Rayman and Sonic being good but I'm gonna have 3 platformers off the bat and will wait on Mario Kart 8 for kart racing. Is there any multiplayer functions on Pikmin 3?

Wii U doesn't even have a Pizza Hut app, therefore it cannot have the biggest fans.

Sonic racing shits all over Mario Kart.

Also Rayman blows away NSMB.

Well saw some reviews and gameplay of Pikmin 3 and I must say it looks freaking awesome! I will definitely be getting that right away. Now I have to decide between Super Mario 3D World or Zelda Wind Waker HD. Leaning towards Zelda because the console comes with Mario and Luigi U and it will hold me off for a little before getting Mario World.

With the games you're talking about getting, I think a pro controller and maybe one Wiimote would make the most sense. Get a nunchuck too if you think that's how you'd most likely play Pikmin 3. I think that and Nintendo Land are the only Wii U games where I've busted out the Wiimote.

Yes I played Wind Waker when it first came out but I don't think I finished it and really don't remember a damn thing about it except sailing the boat.

I already have nunchucks from the original Wii they will work with a Wiimote Plus right? I have the older Wiimotes with the added motion plus but rather get a new built-in one.

Really co-op missions? Sweet!!!
