No idea. You completely run the team as the GM = signing free agents, trading players, and can play your games as you see fit.

It's just Be A GM Online.
Also, tips for anyone that wants 'em.
1. Make sure you scout for the draft. If you don't set your scouting assignments through the season you aren't going to know much about the players at the draft. You select a region (US/CA/RUS/WORLD), position (G/D/O) and the duration of the assignment. The more you scout the narrower the range of variability in prospect player value. It does actually make a difference when drafting. If you're seeing a lot of red in the projected player value that means you have no idea if they're any good. The more you get to Green the better.
2. Figure out your general play style. Overall player ratings mean very little if you don't use that skill. For example, if you like to rush up the ice and shoot and then rush back down the ice, don't make a huge trade for Milan Lucic. If you like to possess the puck and run an offense, however...
3. Tailor your default line tendencies to the skills of each line. Don't use your skill players to "Crash the Net" for example. You'll want to spread the ice with speed/skill and crash the net with your less-talented grinders.
4. Pay attention to your in-game strategy as well. If you're nursing a one-goal lead it might not be a good idea to set your Defense to super aggressive. I've noticed that these setting have a greater impact on your non-controlled team's AI this year than in past years. You change these strategies with the D-pad in-game.
5. If you're just starting to play online, don't worry about changing lines. The damage you can do with a ill-timed line change is much less than having your third line out there when your first is mostly rested.
6. In regular Be a GM you can damage your GM rep (thus making it harder to deal) buy proposing lots of bad trades to teams. I don't know if you can do the same in GM Connected. It doesn't seem like it.
...these are just things off the top of my head. If you have any more questions about the mode or in-game play, ask away. I'm sure either Nic or I can answer them.

Re: DVDTalk NHL13 GM Connected League (PS3)
I played a couple of games last night. My goalie was on fire the first game and I managed a lucky goal beating the Rangers 1-0. Second game he wasn't as good and I lost 4-0. I had a good deal more shots on goal but I haven't figured out how to make those count nor how to win faceoffs. I probably only won 1 - 3 per game.
I see that I have a game against Sauce and one against Tallas ( I think.)
Sauce, when do you want to knock out our match? FYI, in case you didn't notice, I'm the Devils. Oh, and Ovechkin is on my team not yours. muwhahaha

I can give you a faceoff tutorial if you're interested. Really, if anyone needs a faceoff tutorial, I'd be willing to help.

I think I also have two games against Winnipeg, how do I get ahold of the player formally known as nichols82?

Re: DVDTalk NHL13 GM Connected League (PS3)
woohoo, won my first h2h last night against Sauce. He scored 1st, then I came back and had a 2-1 lead. He tied it up and then towards the end of the 3rd one of my guys has a shot deflected into the path of my lone star, Ovechkin (playing against the Caps, oh sweet irony,) and I managed to knock it in from the air. Final score 3-2. Good game. In the beginning we both figured we would end up with a 0-0 tie that ended in a shootout. Considering I only manged 1 goal in my other 3 games that didn't seem like such a far-fetched assumption.

The NHL matches against the CPU are soooo much quicker than playing a match in NCAA. Minus h2h scheduling as long as you pick a day/night you can knock your games out in a snap.

I'm going to move the week forward tonight. Any unplayed games will be simmed. Cruz, I need to beat you soundly.
