after you equip it the amulet destroys itself and you have an extra point to spend. If you can not find that point I don't know what happened, because it always worked for me. Just remember to put your old amulet back on after.

Those auto-destructing amulets of power are pretty silly. I'm not sure why they aren't consumable potions.

I think the character has to drain its lifebar before the amulet shatters and you get the point. i think that is in the item description. i haven't used one yet though.

That's the Lifeward Amulets I believe which restore HP on death if equipped.

Thanks for clearing that up, haha. To be honest, I find very little use for any of the belts/rings/amulets/etc. I also have found very little use for money as loot drops always seem to result in better gear than purchasing.

I had about 12K gold and used it to buy power and influence from the treatiers merchant in Skyhold. It leveled up the Inquisition by about 2 levels and I got two perks to use at the War Table.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Just finished this up and really had a good time with it. I still never spent a dime but I did end up doing a few upgrades (particularly runes that do extra dragon damage).

I put about 60 hours in and was level 19 at the final boss battle.

My PS4 slate is clean, just in time for The Order and Bloodborne.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Anyone else have the "Dragon's Bane" achievement glitch? I killed all 10 high dragons, and it says so in the journal, but the achievement is saying I only have killed 8.

I started this around the first of the year and just completed it today. I did just about everything except missing a few collectibles and I clocked in at 106 hours. I finished at level 24 with an Inquisition rank of 18. Power seemed pointless an I finished with 299.

I enjoyed it. A huge improvement over DA:2. They did a great job fleshing out the backstrories of your team members and setting up the next game in the series.

I started around the same time you did and just finished minutes ago! About the same playing time and final level too. Yep, Power didn't seem to be needed that much.

I enjoyed DA2, though it wasn't anywhere near as epic as the fantastic DA:O. This game was back to an epic scale ... I'd probably rank it in between the first two games overall (still a bit behind DA:O).

At first, I was iffy on how the open-world game play resembled Skyrim more than Dragon Age. I think the Hinterlands area was a bit overwhelming to start off in. Though as things progressed, there were more things that made me like the Dragon Age series in the first place: memorable characters and interactions, more strategic party-based combat, branching story choices, an exciting story (with some good set-pieces), and rich world-building.

I probably should've played on the Difficult setting, as things were a bit on the easy side for me. Though by the time I realized it, too much time had passed for me to want to start over (to get the better trophy).

Ending was a bit of a disappointment:
Spoiler:
I was hoping for something epic (like DA:O); like a gigantic siege at Skyhold. Instead it was two bosses (one of which was at half-strength) that went down pretty easily.

And I was stunned when the final slideshow told me Vivienne was elected Divine. WTF?!?!? I supported Leliana and outright tried to steer Viv away from it. Though from reading things, it sounded like your actions (like siding with mages and conscripting them) count for more than your conversations.

What's with that after-the-credits scene with:
Spoiler:
Solas and Flemeth?

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Played a few hours of the DLC last night. I noticed they have made the fade rifts and the enemies a little tougher. I'm at lvl 24 and it is taking a little more effort to beat them, and the loot drops are better. There's more shard gathering, but I'm not really sure why unless you need them to enter an area.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Does Inquisition have an active modding community? I couldn't believe all the mods for Skyrim. So glad I returned to PC gaming.

Not really, there are 426 mod files for Dragon Age (half of which are save games) vs 40,529 for Skyrim on Nexusmods.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

The first Dragon Age had a lot of gear and weapons mods. Also a lot of porn mods. I kid you not.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

Finished the main quest of the DLC today.

The design of the area is awful. A lot of running around to try find the path up a hill and then zig-zaging back and forth to reach the top.

The combat was more.challenging, but once I swapped Vivienne in for Dorian the combat became a lot easier.

Ugh, really? There was already more than enough of that in the regular game. I can't imagine more of it and worse.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

It's much worse in the DLC than it is in the regular game. Instead of spreading the area out, they just built it up to make it seem big.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I was a little more than half way through Inquisition since I last played, and I had every intention of getting back to it... but then Witcher 3 happened. Seriously, that game totally made me realize how awful DA:I really is; from quests, combat, exploration, strategy in fighting enemies, writing, characters, content, art-design, diversions, etc on and on. W3 pretty much embarrasses DA on every level.

Re: Dragon Age III: Inquisition

I finished the DLC a few days ago and I really enjoyed it. I finished the main game in early January so it had been awhile and I had forgotten the nuances of the combat so I had to drop it down to casual for awhile to get used to it. The storyline was good but nothing spectacular. If you want more Dragon Age you won't be disappointed. I didn't have any issue with the area design. Felt pretty much like any other area in the world.

Isn't it time for this game to drop into The Vault yet?
