I think that qualifies as a soul-crushing defeat.

Nic destroyed me in the 2nd half of our game and I felt pretty crushed. My offense just couldn't do anything against the speed of his defense.

Ha! Yeah, m'f'er.

He called a timeout. So I called a screen pass as a joke (because he allowed something like three TD's on halfback screens due to ill-timed blitzes). I even told him what I was calling. And he said "This affects me, how?" It went for something like 7 yards and I got docked my 100 Sportsmanship points. Nevermind if you asked "Coach" what I should be calling he kept telling me to throw post routes into the end zone.

No need to feel bad whatsoever. I don't have the patience or discipline to not play stupidly once I fall significantly behind. I'm doing a much better job in the first half of mixing up my defense and sticking largely to the run. The second half, I get dumb. By the fourth quarter, it doesn't matter any more and I'm sending everybody all the time (even after swearing not to do it any more) and chucking passes at tightly covered guys.

I did get progressively worse with each restart, too. At least on that first game, I would have been up 7-0 for a while!

I think my new goal needs to be not winning, but minimizing points against. That way, there's no failed goal for me to give up on halfway through the game.

Other things I need to avoid include:
1) Sack-fumbles.
2) Dropping passes when I'm wide open with no one between me and the endzone.
3) Throwing to that one dude who intercepts everything.
4) Having my cornerbacks and safety play 45 yards down field in a cover 3 zone when you're only 30 yards outside of the endzone.

Also, don't feel too badly about nic44 calling you a douchebag. He's intimately familiar with my 4th quarter I'm-getting-blown-out-so-let's-see-how-many-interceptions-I-can-throw hijinks.

He has been kicked. Wife has gastroenteritis and I had to take care of everyone. Didn't notice the messages until late.

I had late night maintenance last night so I played my match. If I wasn't greedy I would have thrown 6 TD passes and only 2 pics with my QB but I ended up w/ 4 INTs. Still won 63 - 7.

I hope she recovers/feels better soon. My wife was hospitalized with that a couple of years ago. It was horrible.

I'll start with an apology to Cruz...last night was a cluster fuck of a game. We started once, but my daughter started crying and i couldn't get her back to bed...so my wife ended up feeding her, but Cruz was on hold for like 20 minutes. Then our game got d/c'd and we had to start over. At half time, I asked for another pause to go check and my wife and daughter had fallen asleep on the couch, so I picker her up to take her back to bed and as soon as i layed her down, she started crying so I picked her up, got her back to sleep, and layed her down and she started crying again...rinse and repeat for like 20 minutes, until she burped and completely woke herself up...so then i tried to take her with me to play, but she was a lunatic, hitting the buttons....on one play, she knocked the controller out of my hand completely. I tried putting her down, but that room isnt baby proofed, she she kept doing things like wrapping the headset cord around her neck and putting her legs under the chair i was sitting in...it was a total mess.

We were tied 21-21 at the half, but I ended up losing 42-28.

This scenerio is what I worry about anytime i play one-on-one online...I was really frustrated...but not as much as Cruz must have been. We started our game around 11:30 and it had to be close to 2am when we finally finished. In retrospect, I wish i had just let you play the computer.

I am going to have to buy anopther PS3, so i can put it in the living room. That way she can play on her own and I can play or recruit while she does.
