Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I like the single player, too. Absolutely no interest in online and I'll probably never play it.
That being said, once I'm done with it I'll probably get rid of it. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
The online is a lot of fun for me. Never did it with the others.
|
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I just finished it. Probably my favorite of the series, and way better than Conviction.
The ending was okay. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Already dropped to $50 on amazon. One or two more months and I'll pick this up.

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Wrapped this one up. I liked it better than Conviction for sure.

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
its been a while since i've played a splinter cell game.
Isn't there supposed to be a radar to let you know enemies are close to you? I'm having a tough time with the stealth stuff. I just seems like a lot of trial and error since you cannot see your enemies. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I really hate the 4th echelon missions. The story mode missions I like, but the 4E ones are too dang hard. Especially since you basically have to finish them off in one sitting.
|
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Funny. I actually thought this was one of the easier SC games. The 4E are fun for me. Charlie's missions are wave type though. So depending on how you are. That could suck. I'm not good at wave type usually. I'm alright. Just lose patience with that stuff.
I didn't encounter this the first time but it seems that Briggs' last mission, Abandoned City glitches out at the very end. Right where it's going to end. It just glitches and won't move forward. Leaves your character still sitting on the ground by it won't pick then up to move on. It may or may not be due to an update from last time. I've been trying to help a friend get that part of the game over with but it still glitches on us. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
i upgraded to get the radar at max.
what else is worth buying/upgrading? anything not worth buying/upgrading? I'm playing stealth (ghost) |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
If you want a MAX Ghost, IMO, you need: integrated optic goggles and Nanofiber everything for the suit.
Guns: Pistol, SC-IS pistol. I like the red dot on it. Laser sight, match grade ammo, bolt blueprinting, and weight balance. Alternate, SC4000. It has silencer withing the frame. Use the ACOG Sight, laser sight, extended mag, match grade ammo, bolt blueprinting, weight balance, and accurized barrel. Special, crossbow. Buy all three things on it. For me, all this makes perfectionist a breeze. I can see and shoot far with my alternate. In all honesty though that's all insurance to not get caught. Get a layout of the area, know what the baddies do and go, and just go around. I never get bothered by them. I'm on 360, if any one wants to play if be game. Shoot me a PM. I play a lot during the day. Friday and Saturday I can do whatever. |

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Has anyone played the co-op mode on this and if so is it a good value and have some long play value to it? Have a friend who we're looking for a co-op game to tie us over between Diablo III and wrapping up Defiance. I played the last one and did a small bit of co-op in that and it really wasn't bad at all. Loved the single player and story in it.

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
i didn't bother with the charlie mission since i was playing ghost style and didn't have the right gear for it.
Those side quests are really tough. All the main missions were fairly easy also except for the last one. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Finally they fix that Abandoned City bit.

At this point I'm just going to wait for $20. Certainly won't be later than Black Friday.

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
We already know it will be $25 at Gamestop on BF. So $20 at another retailer isn't out of the question.

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Ended up getting this for $30 on the Wii U.
I really like using the U's touch-pad on this. A few missions in and I'm liking it quite a bit. It looks really nice and plays like Splinter Cell should. The "execute" stuff almost feels like cheating, but they do make you earn it's use, so it's not too bad. When things go according to plan, you feel like a badass and it's really satisfying. I like how they've set up your base of operations and how you get your missions and upgrades from people. The only real negative thing I can think of is how some of the side-missions don't have checkpoints, and you have to run through them perfectly to progress and on the technical side, the missions take forever to load - maybe they load quicker on the 360/PS3, but it's hella slow on the U, though I've seen no other hiccups yet. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I mentioned this over in the deals forum, but forgot to mention it here
Splinter Cell Blacklist is on sale at Gamestop for $19.99 through tomorrow. 360, PS3, PC and Wii U. The copy I picked up was the Gamestop Edition that came with some DLC guns and stuff. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Picked up a copy yesterday
Also ordered the HD update trilogy and Conviction as part of the buy 2 get 1 free deal at Best Buy (<3 GCU). So I am going to start from the beginning and work my way through this series. |
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I got this during the steam sale and I just installed it today. Stealth games have never really been my cup of tea but on a whim I got this. I have only completed 2 story missions so far but it is safe to say that this game is freaking awesome. I am attempting this game with mouse and keyboard and it is going surprisingly well. I love the controls in this game everything seems to work so smooth and seamless. You really feel cool when playing it. Sam Fisher sounds different...different actor?
|
Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I got this during the Steam sale as well. Great game. The side missions are really tough, however. Haven't beaten a single one of those (and no one seems to be online for coop).
Yeah, it's a new actor as Fisher. Michael Ironside served as consultant but it seems that was just a fancy way of saying he approved of the new actor. Eric Johnson provides the new voice and motion capture (the latter reason being why he was chosen to replace Ironside) for Sam Fisher. You might remember him as Whitney (Lana's boyfriend) in Smallville. He actually takes me out of the game because, although his performance is good and suits a younger Sam Fisher, you can't mask that the actor is 34 and voicing a 57-year-old character. They really should have rebooted the franchise completely rather than what is essentially a "soft" reboot. |

Re: Splinter Cell: Blacklist
I seriously don't see how they're that hard.
