Starting this thread in hopes that we'll get more info about the game at tonight's Sony conference. There will be cross play between the Vita and the PS3, but beyond that basic info, not much is known yet. I loved the three Sly games on the PS2 and am looking forward to this first new game for the PS3.

I'm a little concerned that Sucker Punch isn't doing this one, but hope it still turns out to be a great game. If nothing else, Sanzaru Games did a nice job with the Sly Trilogy conversion.

I was real excited to hear that they're making a Vita port. If this becomes a trend, the Vita could have a real bright future. I'll be picking this one up day one.

More good news : Price has been reduced, apparently. Now it will be $39.99 for PS3 (with PS Vita copy included) or $29.99 for the Vita copy alone.

Demo will be out 1/22 for PS Plus and 1/29 for everyone else. This is different than the old demo that was included with R&C HD Collection.

I was just going to say that I couldn't bite on that for $59.99. $39.99 might still be a little to high. I don't know why, but I just forsee this dropping in price Ubisoft style. But I do wanna play it.

SCEA titles don't tend to drop like Ubisoft ones. In fact there used to be a rule that they couldn't go on sale for below MSRP for like 90 days after release. That seems to have changed as both LBP Karting and Playstation All Stars Battle Royale have gone cheaper within a couple of months of release.
Still, this seems like a really good price considering you're getting it on two systems. I bought it for $45 at New Egg using a $15 pre-order coupon months ago. If they drop their price and I get it for $25, I'll be very happy indeed. As of now, no retailer has dropped the price yet.

I would have paid full price for this. At that price, day 1 purchase for sure. Too bad I sold off my Vita a few months back.

Will New Egg adjust our pre-order prices or will they keep us at the price we agreed to pay minus the pre-order discount?

I don't know. We have like a month. When they drop the price of the preorder I might call and ask them. Remember, once an item enter "Shipping Soon" status, it's yours with no returns allowed. I'll keep you posted in this thread since I'm in the same boat.

As for the prices of games, we do still have a locked amount of time where a game can't be below full price. Battle Royale and LBP Karting were exceptions to the rule because of the holidays/black friday.

I would have payed full price for this as well, I was planning on it. I'm a huge fan of this series, and I can't wait to play this one.

Well, Newegg finally dropped the price on their site but the price difference does not reflect in my order. I'm thinking about calling them and seeing if I will get the new price plus the discount that we got earlier for having pre-ordered it. If not then I will cancel and order from Amazon with Prime and to get my Amazon Visa points.

Been Looking forward to this one for a while, as I love The series, but cant be helped to be underwhelmed with the visuals. They don't look that great.

They look like what I would expect Sly to look like on the PS3. Well, you could look at it like you're getting 20 bucks off both versions for a "lack of graphics".

I went ahead and preordered this. I think the graphics look great. I'm hoping this will fill the void of disappointment that I felt with Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault.

Good for you! Like an idiot, I cancelled my New Egg pre-order last week when a CS rep told me they couldn't adjust the price down. Still a good deal at MSRP though.

I played for a couple of hours this afternoon. Honestly, I don't know what he was expecting. Yes, it's dated and honestly outside of humor and nostalgia for the characters, I don't know why someone (or myself) would choose to play this over Infamous or Uncharted -- it feels like gameplay from a bygone era. Still, it's a Sly Cooper game and feels like a Sly Cooper game should. I haven't gotten to a Boss Battle yet, so I'll reserve judgement on that part for now. But it controls fine, looks okay, the mini-games seem enjoyable enough and it's funny with a wacky premise. Seems alright to me.

But big for the pre-order bonus -- it's just the unlockable content from playing the game. Not only that, it's the first two unlockables you'll get, meaning that until you collect 15 hidden Sly masks, you'll not be unlocking anything.

I'm about two hours in and honestly I don't really have any gripes (except the loading times which are just plain unacceptable). I'm fine with the gameplay and graphics, it feels like an interactive cartoon so I don't really need anything overconvulted.
