well, i got into pc gaming earlier this year and discovered "bandicam". It is very simple to record gameplay and I have really enjoyed doing it. I have mainly Dark Souls videos that I made to help out people with boss strategies and what not. So, If you ever buy Dark Souls and need help -- go to my youtube channel

Dead Space is VERY similar to Doom 3. It really has the same feel to it. I just recently started playing Dead Space a couple of weeks ago on the PC and it constantly reminds me of Doom 3. That game was definitely a big inspiration for DS. Dead Space is utterly fantastic by the way. I got it and the sequel for 10 bucks on the PC.

yeah, the first Dead Space blew me away, the second, not as much, but still fantastic games the pair of them. you got them for practically nothing and will pay off in spades.

i actually bought Dark Souls for a friend of mine for X-Mas, will probably play it after he is done, but i am not big into the RPG's. he is, which is why i think he'll love it. he is a big Elder Scrolls fan and i can't wait to tell him that this game will kick-his-ass! i will send him to your page when/if he needs help.

what made Dead Space 2 lackluster? just curious, no spoilers

Your friend will thank you forever for getting him Dark Souls...he will love it.

i wouldn't say lackluster, it was just more of the same from 1, but more frantic. the unique quality was gone and the gameplay was more of the same instead of inventive in anyway. still a very good game, but was also let down by the rather easy and predictable final boss battle.

i saw that a dead space 3 is coming out. how does this poor Isaac fellow get himself in these situations over and over.
I have often wondered the same about John McClane

I ordered Doom since amazon had it pretty cheap. I'm just kind of in the mood for a game like that right now.
And to jump in on the Dead Space tangent, I loved both games, though I agree with everything about it feeling less innovative for the second one. Still, I was fine with it. When I buy a game sequel, I kind of want it to feel pretty much the same with minor improvements after lessons learned from the first one. I really like the New Game + on Dead Space 2 after you finish it the first time (and the first Dead Space had a "virtual" New Game + considering the massive bonus you get at the end). With both games, I felt like I got the full enjoyment from the games the second time playing through.

^ what do you mean by "virtual" new game?

Re: DOOM 3 BFG Edition!!!
I meant that it felt like the New Game + feature you find on some games since the bonus you get allows you to buy so many upgrades etc. To me, it just makes the game feel more fun to play from the first level since you're not just biding your time, waiting to upgrade to weapons and a suit with real power and stamina.

The only and first time I played DOOM 3 was on the first XBOX, many many mars' ago. I remember being scared as fuck and hating the flashlight or gun choice.
Just finished my play-through of regular campaign, ROE campaign and Lost level. I still was fucking scared, even with the flashlight separation. The surround sound (back speakers are close to my back) and the spawning of enemies still had me tense. Some of the best 2 implemented. Playing the parts with Sentry bots are :cool;, real action type stuff, wished more were used. Thought the graphics looked great and also manual saves is a plus.
