I don't like the comic nor the TV series but all the praise here convinced me to give Ep. 1 a try. I bought Ep. 2 immediately after finishing it and have to say, this is an early GOTY contender for me.

Yeah, just got it last weekend. Fucking thing got tense. I felt way more involved w/ the game's story than I did w/ the show. I actually liked Season 1 as well, Season 2 was iffy..well up to the point of the middle is what I saw..just..didn't feel engrossed w/ the stories.

Played through Ep.2 tonight. Holy shit that was intense. Kinda saw where it was going about halfway through though.

I love the post game stats. Apparently I was part of the 12% that shot Jolene. What can I say, it was the first time you get a gun and bitch was clearly crazy.

So that leads me to...is the ending the same for everyone?
Spoiler:
mine ended with the camcorder footage of Jolene spying on the Motel and talking about kidnapping Clementine and eating the St. John's meat. Clearly alluding to the cannibalism driving her crazy.

Which leads me to believe those 12% made the right choice.

Bold claim with Borderlands 2 and Halo 4 around the corner. As for the first 8 months of releases it's definitely #1 for me. Then again this may be the first new release game I've bought all year.

Yeah, I fully expect something like that to fully overtake it, but thus far this year, it and Max Payne 3 are the best I've played.

Both look to be "more of the same" in terms of their respective franchises (I haven't played either yet and could be wrong). Which is not a bad thing if you like those kinds of games, it just doesn't make them GOTY material (for me).

As for The Walking Dead, I suspect we'll see longer and longer delays. Each episode it's going to be harder to handle the previous episodes' choices. I can see the programmers throwing in the towel early and

Spoiler:
Killing "Dougley" in episode 3 or 4 just to be done with it

Walking Dead Episode 3 hits today on PSN, tomorrow on XBLM, PC, and Mac

The Walking Dead: Episode Three: Long Road Ahead arrives on PSN today, and tomorrow on XBLM, PC, and Mac. The PSN price is $4.99, while on XBLM it's 400 MS points. PC and Mac players will have access through Telltale's Season Pass or various online portals, including Steam. International release dates remain unconfirmed, though Telltale Games hopes to have word on that soon.

Telltale announced the news after yesterday teasing the next episode of the zombie-stuffed adventure would drop "very soon." Meanwhile, iOS shuffles along just behind the pack, with Episode Two releasing as an in-app purchase for the Walking Dead game tomorrow.

Telltale is pretty good about getting their episodes out, unlike some companies *cough* Valve *cough*

Maybe they are wanting to tie it to the release of Season 2 today.

Maybe we'll get lucky and they'll release episode 4 near Season 3's premiere date of Oct. 14. But given that two months seems to be how long each episode is taking, they could just wait for a Halloween release.

Played episode 3 last night and enjoyed it for the most part, more so than episode 2 anyway.

Spoiler:
I miss Carley. I looked around on the net, and what I found so far is there is no way to save her?

It only unexpected because it's so late. It was supposed to be out in July. Then mid au. It's now end of Aug.

Ugh, I really wish this game supported cloud saves. Lost my saved games and have to reply the first 2 episodes.

Here's a solution to the lost saves that's worked for some people:

Man this one had some tough decisions and sequences. Really enjoyed it though.

Spoiler:
I liked Carley too and wondered how I screwed up to get her killed. Looks like it would happen no matter my choices. The Ducky sequence was pretty difficult too. The writers are definitely doing well at pulling on the heart strings.

Didn't expect to see what happened happen. It actually really took me off guard. How sad to lose that element.

Re: The Walking Dead (Telltale Games)

Another great episode, although I didn't think it was enjoyable as part 2 for me. I skipped right into episode 3 since my saves were lost on my work computer, so it randomly generated a lot of decisions. It actually got most of what I did in the previous game right from the "previously" intro bit so that was good.

As for the episode...

Spoiler:
Got stuck with Doug, and he was annoying so I was happy to see him die. I liked Carly, so it would have bummed me out to see her die. Didn't think Lily would run off since I expected her to be around for awhile; something tells me she might come back. Crazy to see Duck and Katja both die as well. Neither shocked me as much as Kenny killing Lily's dad in Episode 2, but that was still pretty sad to see.

It seemed like they randomly shoved in the homeless guy Chuck and the two new people at the end pretty quickly though. Cool twist at the end with the radio, can't wait to see what happens with that.

Loving this series, game of the year for me too.

Excellent game. Can't wait another two months for episode 4.

Fuck me, that one huge thing this episode MAKES you do is the single most emotional thing I've ever experienced in a video game.

Spoiler:

Loved this episode but it was the weakest one so far. Well it had the best start to any of the episodes but ending weaker.

I let Lily back on the RV. She kind of had a point about how everybody had done bad things and were forgiven.

Just finished. Really enjoyed it. Is Episode 4 out yet? ;)

Definitely some real emotional punches in this one.

4 year old, very vague comic spoilers:
Spoiler:
Lilly actually shows up in the comic and plays a short, but major role in resolving the prison/Woodbury arc. Unless we end up in Woodbury, I'm not sure if Lee and Clementine will cross paths with Lilly again.

Oh shit. As a comic book reader, I didn't even realize that.
