Spaceventure has a new prototype out:
http://guysfromandromeda.com/living-...t-art-phase-4/ They had an interview with Gary Owens (narrator on SQ4 and SQ6) earlier today: http://guysfromandromeda.com/gary-ow...terview-61012/ After getting a lot of pledges in the last few days, their kickstarter is at over $460K and is extremely close at hitting its goal before it ends in the next day and ahalf.: http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/spa...-of-space-que/ |

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
Spaceventure has raised over $486K and is now "trending" to 100% on Kicktraq:
http://www.kicktraq.com/projects/spa...s-of-space-que They also announced new $5 and $25 reward tiers today. For my mind though, if you're going to pledge $25, you might as well go for $30 with all the extra bonuses. New video featuring Cluck Y'egger: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXx3B71cUUk In other news, Lilly Looking Through is now over 100% funded: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...8?ref=activity |

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
Alright, I'll just throw in $15 for them.

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
SpaceVenture now has a Paypal page for pledges:
http://guysfromandromeda.com/contribute-paypal/ Rewards are the same as for Kickstarter pledges. I think the Paypal page will stay up after the Kickstarter ends, which is good, because the Kickstarter will end in under 2 hours. Chris Pope, the man managing the Kickstarter, had a family emergency yesterday, and so there hasn't been much official communication for the past day. Stretch goals will be announced later. Prototype 5 will be released as well. I don't know what the status of any live countdown to the end of the Kickstarter is. |
Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
Just pledged $50, cheating my mind into thinking that 4 games for $50 is a great deal. Hopefully one or both of my girls will enjoy playing them with me.

Zombie Playground has met its funding goal, and is now going for stretch goals in its last few days.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ine-battle-rpg Tex Murphy: Project Fedora was funded, and still has Paypal open for additional pledges to go towards stretch goals: http://www.bigfinishgames.com/suppor...-fedora-paypal Likewise, Two Guys From Andromeda SpaceVenture was funded, and still has Paypal open for additional pledges to go towards stretch goals: http://guysfromandromeda.com/ Anyone see any interesting new game kickstarters recently? |

Some good pedigree: DoubleBear Productions is an indie RPG developer founded by Brian Mitsoda (formerly of Black Isle, Troika, and Obsidian - writer/designer for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines) and Annie VanderMeer Mitsoda (Obsidian, Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir). We’ve assembled a team that has come from the indie (part of our team comes from Iron Tower Studio, creators of Age of Decadence - a turn-based RPG) |
Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
This is a pretty cool idea if it works, a trackball controller.
Unfortunately he loses points for revamping the PS3 controller and talks about it being more ergonomic in the process. Glancing at YouTube, it also appears he's not the first to do this. |
Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
Well, it looks like the rush of high-profile revival projects has died down. Nothing too ambitious currently on the site.
Zombie Playground and Lilly Looking Through both were successfully funded. Only 5 hours left on the zombie RPG Dead State: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...e-survival-rpg For adventure games, Quest For Infamy, a Quest for Glory inspired adventure game from the creators of the VGA remakes of Kings Quest 3 and Space Quest 2, ends tomorrow: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-infamous-que/ There's also the adventure game Jack Houston and the Necronauts, a retro-pulp scifi adventure game from the developer of the yet-to-be-released fan adventure game the Han Solo Adventures. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...he-necronauts/ http://www.hansoloadventures.com/ http://www.hansoloadventures.com/hsademo.zip Finally, the developer of the 1993 DOS game Jetpack is looking to revamp the title for modern platforms with Jetpack 2: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...ginal-jetpack/ |

No interest in the new Android based free to play something or other TV console?

Eh...reminds me a bit of "The Phantom". Remember that?

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
I went ahead and pledged enough for a console. I can't keep being cynical about things like this if I'm to continue calling myself an idealist.

OUYA: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...o-game-console http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...-tv-a-smart-tv Of course, the Pocket TV is intended to be a more all-purpose "Android on TV" experience. I was initially turned off by the OUYA requiring all games be F2P, but their FAQ clarifies that "this means [that] there will at least be a free demo..." which means it won't be too different than current Android apps that often offer a "lite" or "free" version. It also means it won't be too different from most consoles, which normally offer demos on almost all the available games. |
Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
Met their goal in one day. Over one million.

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread
So you need a android to use Ouya? I have a Iphone

I threw down $99. It's an interesting idea and even if it flops, I think there'll be enough free or homebrew content for the cost. |

Of course not. It's a self-contained box that runs on the Android platform.
