Bumping this one. It's at $272,011 out of $500,000 and is going need a small miracle to make that much up in 6 days. I'll give if it gets close, but there is no point in getting my hopes up since that will be a tough climb. I think it would be a neat project, but with the Shadowrun PC game coming next year, an MMO for the world just seems like a vanity project.

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread

They just added a "dual-6770 + $15" tier for $106. That seems pretty spectacular to me.

Let's start this update off with a huge "Thank You!"

Not only have all of you supported us in the past 4 weeks, but in the last 48 hours, many of you have help raise an addtional $40,000 as the AMD Radeon HD 6870 video cards drew interest from both existing and many new DG2 Kickstarter backers (over 5,000 backers now!).

We're getting much closer to the minimum, and we want to follow the last great video card offer that sold out, with another offer that we believe can be just as exciting.

For a $106 pledge, you'll get the benefits of the $15 base tier, and get TWO AMD Radeon HD 6770 video cards. If you're the technical type and have the slots and power supply for it, you can hook these cards up together and using AMD's Crossfire technology they'll work as one, and exceed the performance of the HD 6870's that sold out earlier. If you aren't ready for Crossfire, you still get two great video cards at an amazing value. You can keep one for yourself and give the other to a friend or relative.

If you know someone who likes Defense Grid and would love a couple of brand new AMD video cards, send them to the DG2 Kickstarter page. We have until Tuesday at 2pm to raise less than $30,000 more to cross the minimum. Every referral helps out!

This week's video update and in-game update with an epic new mini-game and more contests than ever will launch tomorrow. Talk with you then!

Thanks!

Jeff

They added $107 & $108 tiers, very limited, to get one of the special mice (red & green, respectively) with the $30 tier content.

Okay this looks awesome, and it has cleared 429k and still has 15 days to go.

I backed this.

Re: Ultimate Kickstarter Video Games Thread

Apparently if you pledge the 15 dollar tier (or any tier for that matter) on the Defense Grid 2 Kickstarter and add 90 to the pledge they will also send you a Radeon HD 6870 which sells for 160+ on amazon by itself. So for 105 dollars you get a nice video card and the game. So if you've already pledged and need a new video card, this is a good way to get a good one cheap.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...defense-grid-2

Special Add-A-Thing Tier: Add a Radeon HD 6870 video card to any existing tier by pledging the correct total amount and choosing this tier or changing your existing tier choice to this tier choice. To make this unique tier level work, set your total pledge amount to the total of: (1) The cost of the other tier you want (must be a non-limited tier, or a limited tier you previously held), (2) Add $90 for the Radeon HD 6870 video card, and (3) Add international shipping (if applicable) – include $20 for the Radeon HD 6870 video card plus any amount that may have applied to your original tier. Based on your new pledge total, we will confirm with you the tier to which you are adding the Radeon HD 6870 video card.

My last bump on this one. Its up to $436,000 now with an INCREDIBLE last 24 hour push. Being a SR diehard, I did $105 on this one. It was a lot harder to put this amount down after the $125 on the Shadowrun PC game, but I believe in the environment and wish it nothing but luck. It has a serious shot of making it now. BTW, only 18 hours to go.

Up to 450K now. Jumped in at the 25$ pledge level.

Also backed DG at the $15 dollar level.

Wow. Shadowrun Online is now funded. A simply amazing two days and what's more impressive is that they are still averaging nearly $100 per person. I guess a small miracle happened after all. I'm sure the guys @SRO are celebrating right now. Awesome push.

The Guys From Andromeda have finally posted the last version of their "living concept art" aka prototype:
http://guysfromandromeda.com/living-...er-late-never/

They recently hit their stretch goal of $550K via paypal donations, which means additional languages (German, Spanish, French).

They also recently interviewed Lori and Corey Cole, creators of Sierra’s Quest for Glory, about that series and their new game, the School for Heroes, for which they plan to launch a Kickstarter project at the end of October.

Hidden Path have opened up Paypal payments for those wanting to back the now-closed Defense Grid 2 Kickstarter.

Email [email protected], let them know you want to become a new backer, and at what tier. Give your shipping address too. They'll send you a paypal invoice to collect any tier amounts and/or international shipping. You can also use this email address to upgrade your tier or add international shipping to a previous pledge.

A Kickstarter for Armada Online just opened a couple days ago. Funding is super slow right now, maybe it will pick up. Sounds like the original team who did Armada for the Dreamcast is going to work on it. They will also release the original Armada for PC using the new assets from AO if it hits one of their stretch goals.

Just curious : Have any of the higher-profile games successfully funded through Kickstarter come out yet? Because it looks like the two I funded (Double Fine Adventure, Leisure Suit Larry) don't look anywhere close to being ready.

Double Fine was the first "higher-profile" game project. All of them have had a deadline of something like a year or more after the funding date for delivering the project. So none of them have come out yet.

Double Fine has been releasing the documentary episodes on a monthly basis, so there is content coming from them already (just not the game itself).

Guns of Icarus Online had a Kickstarter that ended in Feb and is just about to be released on Steam, although it looks like they were well into development when they went to Kickstarter:

Some games already have alphas or betas that Kickstarter backers can play.

Broken Sword is a pretty long running adventure game series, with Charles Cecil on board it's worth looking into. Just downloaded the Broken Sword: DC to my tablet the other day.

Faster than Light was one of the first games that was on KS at the time of double fine. They released a beta the other day. Downloaded FTL last night, messed around it for about 15 minutes, pretty simple gameplay and design. This is going to be a pretty good way to spend a extra half hour here and there.
