Yeah, that was a previous giveaway of GOG (my purchase date shows 12/12/2011).

They're reached $2.1 million, which means Chris Avallone/Obsidian will be involved in the project. Interview with Chris Avallone about what this involvement will be, and what he and his company will bring to the project:

The video in the update also notes that the $15 for a digital copy of the game is a discounted price, and that when released, the game will be sold for a higher price (how much higher, they don't say).

I assumed that. I bet digital goes for 29.99 or something

I'm wondering if we should just turn this into a kickstarter thread, and just talk about all the different kickstarting games? Lots of good ideas out there, but not really worth a brand new thread?

I've been thinking of starting a new "ultimate" kickstarter thread for all the different projects.

Go ahead :D

I'd say the bigger higher profile games should get their own thread. I don't really care about some of the other projects out there

I think that's fine, which is why when I created the Ultimate Kickstarter thread, I included links to the previous dedicated threads to certain projects.

Hopefully it'll be similar to how we have an "official" thread about XBLA games and the like, but certain titles like Alan Wake: American Nightmare still have their own threads.

Yeah this would be to capture the smaller known titles, and kind of be a repository for the larger games.

GOG is having an Interplay 50% off sale, including Fallout 1 & 2 and Fallout Tactics:
http://www.gog.com/promo/interplay_blast

For those who got Fallout 1 free last weekend, this is a cheap way to complete your collection. Fallout 2 in generally thought of as good as, if not better than, the first Fallout.

Fallout Tactics had its detractors since it's a shift to a tactical strategy game instead of an RPG like the first two Fallout games, but if you like that sort of game and aren't expecting another RPG, it might be up your alley.

About 44 hours to decide if I'm going to up my pledge to get some of the swag or not.

New update; they are including an extra digital copy in all award tiers $30 and up.

Anyone not interested in pledging a full $15 want to work with me and get me to up my bid?

Also, $30 pledgers get access to a four-episode Video Development Blog, which sounds similar to what Double Fine/2 Player is making, but on a smaller scale.

Less than an hour left, and they're at $2.9 million. If you add in the $100,000 from their Paypal pledges, they've broken $3 million.

Re: Wasteland 2 Project on Kickstarter

Screw it, I'm in for $100 for the limited edition box and other swag. If anyone wants the extra digital copy for a modest trade or the like, let me know.

3 million should include Tim Cain from Obsidian.

InXile has put a pre-order for Wasteland 2 DRM-free download on their site:
http://wasteland.inxile-entertainment.com/store

It's $20, which is more than the $15 it was during the Kickstarter, but is still cheaper than the price it will be when released.

Update from Fargo:

BrianFargo: I can officially announce that we've chosen the Unity engine for Wasteland 2. It meets all the criteria we need. First screens looking good.

Interesting choice. They promised a Linux version, which Unity has been working on supporting, but doesn't officially yet. Maybe InXile choosing Unity means that the Unity engine will be on Linux soon:
