I already owned BF3, so I ended up just getting the others for $1.

If BF3 was on Steam I would have gone for it, but I don't feel like messing with Origin just for one game that will probably lose most of it's players with BF4 just around the corner.

I only have BF3 and SimCity on Origin. With EA trying to push users towards it, I figure it's just a matter of time until you end up with more games on it so i'm not sure if it's worth avoiding. Although you're probably right about BF4.

EA hasn't released a game on Steam for 17 months now (not counting Sims 3 DLC packs), so at some point I'll have to cave. I imagine the first game I buy on Origin will be the toughest, as it breaks the convenience of using Steam for everything.* But once I get that first game, it will be easier to add more.


* Yes, I have some stuff from GOG, but they're DRM-free so it's not like running another client.

I did find it odd that Dead Space and Dead Space 3 were included, but not Dead Space 2.

Gave the BF3 key to my nephew since I already had it. Hoping they do add DS 2. I only played a little of the first on PS3 and enjoyed it but traded it in and figured I would pick it up eventually.

I haven't purchased a Humble Bundle before until now, do they just add bonus games if you purchased previously?

Yes, which is why it is always a good idea to get in when the BTA is at a lower point. When they add games if you BTA when you originally bought the package, you get everything they add.

No, you can buy at $1 before the bonuses are given and you'll still get them. (Less if you don't care about steam or Origin keys, but that doesn't apply much to this bundle)

Nope. $1 initial purchase usually unlocks all added bonus games in Humble bundles (as long as you got in before they were announced). In the Indie Gala, the added bonuses are usually tied to the higher tiers (but they usually hint at giving you upcoming, unnamed bonuses in the higher tiers when you buy it).

yeah you still got to BTA. good/bad thing for people is that people are driving this down because of people's hate for EA (which makes no sense honestly - with 100% of EA's profits going to charity).

It might not necessarily be a hate of EA, but a dislike of Origin. Since the BTA bonuses are Origin-only, some people may be skipping them and just grabbing the ones available on Steam for as cheap as possible.

Any bonuses added later will be given to everyone who bought it before the addition, so buying cheap now ensures you'll get any surprise bonuses later.
