Biggest disappointment of 2011?

The single player for Battlefield 3 was a huge disappointment. I've had some good rounds on the multiplayer. But the campaign was awful.
Homefront was also a disappointment.

I'll vote for X-Men : Destiny. Now I wasn't expecting it to be great, but holy Hell, it sucked. I really liked the X-Men Legacy and MUA games and expected this one to be something in the same sort of league. What it turned out to be was sloppy, boring and repetitive. No excuse in securing such a rich franchise and shitting all over it like that.
Surprised you all hated Battlefield 3 so much. Just bought it from Best Buy for $30, but now might go ahead and return it instead of opening it up.

Did you get it for the multiplayer or single player? If you got it for the campaign, return it. But the multiplayer's definitely worth $30.

My vote goes to Rage. Not because I thought it was bad. I actually enjoyed playing it. It looked and played great. But with all the hype, I was expecting game of the decade material, which it clearly wasn't. Not terrible, but not mind-blowing either. Expectations set way to high = biggest disappointment for me.

Uncharted 3. Still a very good game, but after the first 2 I expected to be blown away. Unlike the first 2 where I wanted to replay Chapters, I didnt feel that way in this one. I also was upset they did away with the tweaks as I think those make the replay value high for me.

Kinda shitty to see BF3 being a disappointment.....as a long time COD fan...I have grown so tired of the same shit over and over again was hoping BF3 would change things up - how does the online compare? I've heard it's just as good if not better.

Duke Nuke 'em - Would've been OK on the original XBox
Battlefield 3 - Hated it...multiplayer & campaign, hated it all!
Bodycount - Someone should be ashamed for making this game!
Spiderman: EoT - Had high expectations, and delivered none!

I would like to say Brink, Rage and some others but I haven't even played them based in the really bad feedback here.
So for me it was L.A. Noire, it was like I thought it was GOTY candidate until I realized that it sucked so bad. And yeah I finished the story and got most of the achievements.

Yep, looking back...L.A. Noire was a terrible, terrible game - never felt that ripped off before by a game in my life.

I'm kind of surprised at the dislike of BF3's single player, as I'm amazed anyone bought it for single player. Did BF 1942 or Battlefield 2 have campaigns? I know Bad Company had more emphasis on campaign but that was unrelated.
My biggest disappointment came from LA Noire, I expected a great adventure/mystery game, instead I got another stale open world game with some item hunting added in.

That's interesting, because it's the opposite view for me. I got a great adventure/mystery game a la the 90s style with some stale open world added in.

It never really gripped me and felt kind of tedious, which was a disappointment as I love old school adventure games.

I wasn't disappointed by L.A. Noire in the slightest, though I also wouldn't consider it a great game. Just a pretty good one. I suppose it helps that I got it from Gamefly rather than paying full price.

Duke Nukem for me. It wasn't as bad as reviewers said, but it wasn't particularly good either.
BF3 is a bit of a disappointment, as I spent $50 on it and have barely touched it, preferring the gameplay of COD better.

Re: Biggest disappointment of 2011?
For me, Batman: Arkham City has been a huge disappointment....probably the biggest of 2011.
I just find myself not caring about any of the missions, getting bored with the repetitive thug fights, and getting lost in the huge world and not really caring if I find my way again. I'm sure I'll come back to it and finally "get it", but I'm not holding my breath.
I think one of the many reasons B:AC fell flat for me was I played it right on the heels of Gears of War 3. GOW3 single player had it's "issues" for sure, but hell...it was full of action and fun.

That's what I was gonna say. I started the campaign yesterday and what an adrenaline rush!! The multiplayer has enough additions to make it feel fresh, the graphics are awesome...and did I mention the campaign? Wow, just wow!!!!
