Fantastic news! Devil May Cry 1 & 3 are coming out in HD for $40 (just forget #2 ever existed, but it's in there too). This was one of my favorite PS2 franchises. Release date is February 2012. Before and after pics: Spoiler:

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Good times, good price. This is supposed to hit for the 360 as well right?

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
I'm a sucker for these HD collections. I'm all over this. But they could just send me the version without part 2....I wouldn't mind that :)

Devil May Cry HD Collection Announced
The much-awaited, much-rumored trilogy is real. HD Collections are becoming all the rage this generation, and Capcom has apparently been listening to fans clamoring for some old-school Devil May Cry action. Today, the publisher announced the Devil May Cry HD Collection, which will come to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Devil May Cry HD Collection will include the original Devil May Cry, as well as Devil May Cry 2 and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening. It's due out in early 2012, will cost $39.99, and come included with Trophies on PS3 and Achievements on Xbox 360. IGN.com |
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
I don't get it, it's been years since I've played the first 3 - but why the hate for DMC2? I remember 3 being insanely harder than the first 2. Maybe it's time for a revisit in HD.

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Because DMC2 was a half-assed unfinished game that was lazily converted into a DMC sequel in order to capitalize on the success of the first game.

Think of it as a DMC-themed coaster. ;)
I've never played a DMC game. I never had a PS2, and didn't get into it on PS3. So this would be a good way to catch up. |

They don't put them all on one disc? I would think they could fit them on a BD. But I guess if they split them up it feels like more for your money.

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Loved 1, hated 2, REALLY loved 3's gameplay and style.

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
1 and 3 were absolutely fantastic. 2 was horrible - I waited months for release, was off work release day, was excited about the new weapons and such, but four hours later the game was already over. No challenge, no story, nothing. I haven't played it since it came out January 2003 and I don't know if I'll play it when I pick up the HD collection...

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
There's the thread on that POS called DMC2:
http://forum.dvdtalk.com/video-game-...2-reviews.html Thankfully, the GODs answered my prayers and gave us DMC3/DMC4. Also, what happened to that DMC prequel game that was being developed by another studio? Did it get trashed? |

This remaster release is basically to renew interest in the brand to prime people for that release. |
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Just got this. So I've only messed with DMC1 but is it brighter than before? The color settings have it at a much higher scale of brightness. Like the white font at the color settings is bright as hell. I keep my TV at the standard setting for its colors and it has worked for everything else but DMC1 got my attention quick.

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Devil May Cry HD Collection is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on March 13, 2018. The collection includes Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition, with all three games running at 60fps, according to Capcom. It'll be available digitally and at retail for $30 USD. |
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
I am glad i held off on the PS3 pack. Question is if these are all being remastered? I doubt it. But for $30 i will pick them up. Played through all 3 and enjoyed them, so glad to revisit in the future.

Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Silly to release this again. Just give me a remaster of DMC 4 and eliminate all the back tracking.
|
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Yeah i would love to see a complete collection with all 5 games.

We won't see any more complete of a collection since they have already released 4 and DmC on the current gen as standalones. |
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
I'd actually consider (re-re)buying it on the Switch.
Did DmC not do well or something? Are they not making a sequel? |
Re: Devil May Cry: HD Collection
Pretty sure DmC was similar to the Tomb Raider reboot.. sold millions, but that "wasn't enough", and there was much corporate whining. No sequel on the horizon.
There was also backlash from the fanbase regarding emo Dante. Not sure if that had any bearing on Capcom's decision-making. |
