For dtcarson

Hey...I saw where you were on early Saturday morning...getting the codes I assume...and saw you were a Level 5 Gunserker. Wish I had caught you before when you were starting out since I was thinking of starting a new character. But when you get to around Level 17 or so look me up. I've got a Gunserker at 19 and been looking for someone to do some co-op. Most of my friends are just spending time farming now. I actually want to play the Gunserker and not do a Level Bump

These new codes are expiring a lot quicker than the codes from last week - I only got one out of the last 7.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

I jumped in a game with some randoms yesterday, and this kid duped the most ridiculous collection of orange and pink look I've ever seen...3 varieties of elemental Conference Call, 3 varieties of elemental Infinity, upgrades to almost all of my level 50 weapons along with a bunch of stuff I didn't previously have.

He also dumped some cool orange grenades inlcuding the Storm Front and Quasar, both of which are super fun.

I had to create two new level 1 characters just to grab all the stuff so I could sort through it later.

They too played the first BL and they too say by far and wide the amount and selection far better than now. I bet I can go back to Crawmerax, play ten times and get better stuff than what it's taken me to get in BL2.
Which is exactly what I'm saying. Everybody seems to remember the stuff they got from Knoxx or from Crawmerax as the the way BL1 "was". But the game itself wasn't that way at all. Oranges were monstrously rare in the campaign, and there wasn't a reliable way to farm the ones you wanted.

I'm not saying people don't feel what you say they feel. I'm just saying they are wrong.

That said the guNs so far in BL2....

Loaded Maggie...hands down insane rapid fire power with the Bee and good mod. It's always in my rotation
Conference Call Shotguns...a must have that has good range, spread and loads of power. I keep one in my rotation as well.
Infinity Pistols...not a load of power compared to the standard ones but with The Bee Shield and a good mod can deliver a constant punch without the worry of ammo. In some Boss battles a good one to keep in the rotation.
Hellfire SMG...these were a must with the Siren in the first BL game. With her mod and the classic Hellfire she was devastating. This can light up anything.
Slagga SMG...at 3108x3 with a 115 magizine she is brutal and fun to play with. I almost use her more than the Hellfire.
I have a Slagga, but I haven't really given it much of a chance. Will have to change that.

I don't find the Hellfire to be nearly as good as the ones in BL1, but there are a few places in the game that I find them useful. I have a level 12, 35 and 50 of it, and it gets plenty of time in rotation, but I probably use the Bad Touch more just to maintain my health.

I'm almost looking forward to them gimping the Bee so I can use other shields.

Up to 24 keys and that's after using 4 the other night. I think I'm set for awhile.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

I grabbed only two sets and have about 14 keys and frankly think that's plenty for the time being until we hear the plans for the DLC and leveling. I used about 7-8 with Maya starting at Level 35 and kept them for the other ones and have plenty but just a bit thin in the high 30's to low 40's area on different types.

I did some more in the first playthru in Torgue's Area last night and grabbed one "Pink" before taking on Big Momma. Even being at Level 35 she was pretty tough. I've done about 15 of the Bar Brawls and seen a handful of Blue at best.

I have 32 keys. And I've used at least 20 of them.

Yeah, I have no life.

I've played a lot online, farming bosses and that kind stuff and never got anything interesting.

Last night I was playing alone and it was actually one of the early side missions that I skipped, I'm level 50 TVH done with all the story missions, and... got one pink weapon from the boss chest.

It was the Symbiosis mission.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Still on (mostly) on my first playthrough, and came across my first Orange in Scarlett. Of course it's a shit weapon compared to what I have already. Am I wrong to keep it just to have an orange?

I was also going through my Badass challenges and noticed all the ones I did in offline co-op reset to 0. Must have happened with the my reset a month or so back, just didn't notice it until now.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

I pretty much keep all the real good stuff no matter the Level...just habit and never know when I want to go thru again with another character which I really want to do. And not the easy cheap way of "Level Bumping". I'm still using a Level 30 "Bee Shield" and one Gold Assualt rifle

I got my Mechromancer up to Level 36 and still on the first playthru. I've done the major and some minor missions in the Pirate and Torgue area along with a few doubles in on some big boss batles in hopes of landing some good stuff.

Which brings me to the answer...Flat Out No! We did the The Leviathan and the Final Boss in Torgue last night...second time around and between the two one PINK!...and it was a worthless relic. I've done the major Torgue Boss and Leviathan twice and came away with one Pink gun....just pathetic.

If you want to do any of those while still in first playthru let me know. I'm close to starting the second but still have a couple I'd like to do like the "Hyperion Monster Mash Pt 3".

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Odd.

I've gotten at least 6-8 oranges in normal play including a Conference Call, a Deliverance, a Kerblaster, a Shredifier and a Striker, and I've farmed 20 or so including 3 Hornets, 2 Hellfires, 3 Nukems, 2 more Kerblasters, 2 Bees, 2 Homing Bonus Packages, 2 Maggies, 2 Bitches, a Babymaker, a Black Hole, a Cradle and a Volcano.

The only two things that I've tried to farm but simply WILL NOT drop for me are the heads from Bunker and the Infinity pistol.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

Are those Level 30 or 50?

Also I take it you are on the PS3? If so you're about the 3rd or 4th one that seems to do far better with the PS3 than us 360 owners. I'm being serious because I've got several friends playing this and they have friends and everyone is saying the same thing...the drops suck.

There are only two items I've gone after to farm and both took over 2-2.5 hrs to finally get something. One was The Maggie Pistol and the other The Hellfire SMG (both level 50). I've done the Caustic Cavens with the chests for nearly 3-3.5hrs (Level 30) and got nothing out them...no Pinks.

I've done a total of five play-thrus in Torgue...three at Level 50 and two Level 30 with two to four people. Almost all the main missions and the bulk of the side ones. I can say straight up out of all that playing only three Pinks were discovered. That's not counting the Special Assualt one for completing a mission for Tiny Tina.

As previously discussed, I always farm lower level stuff for use with future characters and at least partly because people have duplicated an impressive set of 50s for me.

The only thing I've actually farmed for a level 50 was the Babymaker, which probably took me 3-4 hours to get at least partly due to a longish run to get to Madam Von Bartlesby. Everything else I've farmed at its natural level in playthrough one or two, so I have Hellfires at levels 12 and 35, for instance. Regardless, I don't have any reason to think that farming for a level 50 is any different than farming for a level 35 in terms of percentages.

Two of my oranges came from random chests: 21 Shredifier and 45 Conference Call, but that doesn't seem like a reliable way to get them at all. Otherwise, they were dropped by the guys they were supposed to drop from, a few in random play, but mostly farmed.

I am playing on PS3, but I can't imagine the underlying probability math would be any different between platforms. I do subscribe to the idea that different characters are more likely to get certain drops though, and all of my orange drops have been with the siren.

I can't think of anything to farm in Caustic Caverns unless you are trying to spawn Vermivorous. The shield from Blue is terrible, and the Minecraft stuff is pretty worthless too. You're almost certainly not going to get anything from the chests.

I farmed the Maggie as well at level 40-41. It took a couple of hours, which was surprising given that it's a quick farm with Zafford sitting right there. But oddly, after I got the first Maggie to drop, I got a second within 15 minutes, so it's definitely random.

Re: Borderlands 2: "xbox360/ps3/pc" -2012

My Maya is Level 50 and have gotten a total of (2) Orange...tha't correct just two and those were farmed. The Maggie (50)and Hellfire (50). Not a single random Orange period in the first or second playthru. I've played about 35% single play and 65% with one or two others.

On the Mechromancer it's been (2) Orange an both of those random after completing the mission. Both Level 30.

Me and the friend I play with said we might go back into the first one and do the Crawmerax about five to ten times and do a actual count of the drops along with the Gold ones.

The reason for the Caustic Cavens is the rae Dahl Chest. According to some "YouTube" videos there's some pretty good Pink Weapons that will be in there.

I did see where someone posted over in the Gearbox BL2 forums they did The Leviathan 300 times and got 46 Gold Items. Should've got those 46 items doing it 100 times or less.

Saw something on Youtube on places to get some of the best guns. The one I watched was by someone who almost knows where to go, the effects of the gun itself and has a good following. Do you remember The Aries Pistol in BL1 espically with"'Bird Man" using his Pistol Mod? That's how it is with this one. With the Bee Shield along with it's rapid fire...it's just brutal for a non-elemental.

I farmed bunker for 4 hours today, got a shrapnel slayer right when I was about to quit. If you don't have it I can dupe it, haven't used it yet on my character.

Thanks for the big loot drop. There were a couple of gun in there that I didn't have (Skullmasher/Flakker) and also the Rolling Thunder grenade.

But I mostly appreciate the siren head. I made a copy before using it in case anybody else needs it on PS3. In fact, I have a mule character named "Heads" that has most of the volcano heads and the rare siren heads from Henry and Bunker. I've also been purchasing the heads out of the vending machines in Torgue and making copies.

I was going to drop into your game and drop my level 30-40 oranges, but I saw you were level 50 and jumped in with Spatula and his friend instead. But I do have a bunch of fairly absurd 50s if you want me to duplicate them for you.
