Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

I used my Wii ... to play the old Resident Evil GameCube games lol.

The only game I have is the sports pack that came with the thing.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

Last night on the official Nintendo page for the Wii U, down at the bottom of the page under "retailers" linking to where you could soon buy it they had Amazon listed as well. Well, I just checked it tonight and Nintendo has already totally removed the Amazon icon. See here...

http://www.nintendo.com/wiiu/buynow/

I have no clue if that has been mentioned yet, but there ya go...

Game Stop has officially stopped taking preorders for the 32GB now, and the 8GB is said to not have enough to last longer than another day or so either.

This is crazy. Someone has already posted their preorder on eBay in an auction style listing for seven days...

Same here, that is, unless after a few years there's a bunch of amazing 1st party Mario/Zelda/Metroid games, otherwise, pass!

Don't get too excited yet. Just because the console is capable of 1080p, that does not mean that games will tend to run at that resolution. We've seen that with the 360 and PS3.

There will always be a string of first party Nintendo games. Maybe I'll buy a Wii U when it gets a price drop and a lot of great games are $20.

I got it now.

I ended up preordering with them, and I can almost guarantee that they'll still try to push cables on me when I go to pick it up. "You don't want the cheap cables out of the box!"

I'll be preordering from ToysRUs.
I hope there's enough good launch games available.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

It looks like BestBuy.com has already stopped taking any sort of preorders for either version...

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Video-Ga...archterm=wii+u

EDIT:

And Target just ran out of the 32GB version.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

I have more interest in this than I'd like to admit. I love old school style platformers so the mario game is looking awesome to me. Plus having the Virtual Console working on an HD system sounds fantastic to me, though I'd probably be better off building a solid HTPC.

Is anyone still taking pre-orders online for the 32 gb?

How much was skydiving?

EDIT: Whoops, just saw you edited it as I typed that.

Anyway, you can still preorder it at Toys R Us right now...

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...uctId=15439636

They are notorious for taking too many preorders for limited items like this though, so I'd put one in there just in case but continue to look and if you find it elsewhere cancel the TRU order and order at the other place. They are at least limiting it to just 1 per order though, so maybe they have learned from the past.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

Haha yeah I figured not to change subjects, but I've spent $400 in a weekend (gear rental + jumps + paying the packers (I'm still new, it takes me 30+ minutes to pack a chute, takes them about 8)). Not to mention all the added equipment costs (helmets, altimeters, ditter, etc; ), the costs of training wasn't cheap either (~ $2k for the AFF and jumps through 25 to get an A license). It's an expensive ass hobby, at least initially. Over labor day weekend my buddy sunk nearly $700 into it.

I went ahead and ordered from TRU, the Jr. Model is already maxed out but they claim to have pre-orders for the 32gb. We'll see, plus they take Bill Me Later w/ 6 month 0% which is awesome.

I guess they aren't selling extra pad controllers in the US until next year. That's gonna suck balls when someone breaks one.

Wow, no clue it cost that much to get into that.

I didn't even realize the 8GB was maxed out, but good to see you got the other one. I got the larger one if only to get in on that download program. That could end up being a great thing if I download enough, which I'll likely do.

Yeah, it's sadly not cheap.

I hope it comes in. Wasn't interested in it a few months ago, but I'm a sucker for old school style games.

KMart is not letting me add the item into my shopping cart (??) even though it provides the button "Add selected item to cart"... and there's no other button to click to pre-order.

Re: Nintendo Console Announced at E3 2011 (Wii U)

Pre-ordered 3 consoles so far.

1 for me
1 for my nephews
1 for possibly resale (profit will likely pay for 3-4 games)

Might wait outside Target as well and nab an extra one.
