re: Battlefield Talk
Not sure what to make of one team having all of the objectives to start some of those maps...odd design choice.
|
re: Battlefield Talk
It is a little weird starting with all of the objectives. And the team that starts with the objectives has less tickets too. Maybe that's how it was originally for those maps. It's different anyway. And those new maps are crazy destructible.
As far as recoil goes, if you play Assault the M416 is pretty stable IMO. It's not as powerful as others, but it's probably the MOST stable gun I have. Granted I haven't used them ALL, but that ones my go to gun for assault. I have it set up with the Kobra RDS (just because I prefer that reticle), Foregrip, and Heavy Barrel. I noticed if you if you put any type of magnified scope on it the recoil seems more drastic, but with RDS it's very manageable. The big trick is to fire in bursts, but that goes for pretty much all weapons. |
re: Battlefield Talk
I'm going shotty full time...see how it works out.
Probably play a bit tonight...see how the shotguns work with some upgrades. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Has anyone played Wake Island on conquest yet? I played for a fairly long time last night, and another few hours today. In that time the other Karkand maps have come up at least 4-5 times each, but I've yet to play Wake Island.
Also, I read that the PC version got patch 1.3 yesterday. Supposedly included one of the most anticipated fixes... nerfing the flashlight. Hoping it makes to consoles soon. I believe the last patch came 2-3 weeks after the PC had gotten it. |
re: Battlefield Talk
<-- Supports flashlight nerfing (and 50% recoil reduction).

re: Battlefield Talk
The IRNV was another fix I saw listed for PC. Strange that the PS3 got that one first. Maybe the flashlights really did get nerfed. Sweet.
Edited to add: One more "fix" I saw listed was adding recoil to the M416. Figures. They messed up my SCAR with the first patch. Now the next one is probably gonna mess up my next favorite. Why they're making weapons WORSE is beyond me. |

I don't remember seeing a lot of snipers until this last patch where they nerfed NV for instance...and I remember getting killed by SCARs a ton. |
re: Battlefield Talk
Good times tonight with Shum, OG and Dogowar. Switching to shotguns has opened the game up for me quite a bit...and I like the new maps. There might be hope for this game yet.

re: Battlefield Talk
Finally got my PS3 unpacked and hooked up. Played a little tonight and ended up in a squad with frizby. Still not used to the maps yet though but not doing too bad. Look forward to having some more play time.

Yeah, I jumped back in. I got disconnected from the shum/ogs game a couple of times and shut it down for a bit, but I was close to level 34 and unlocking the Saiga shotgun, which I really wanted to try. It was definitely the recoil that was making me crazy in this game. The LMGs just turn into rabid ferrets when you pull the trigger. I think in the end that the USAS will be my gun, but if memory serves, it comes at a pretty high level. I also only saw Metro once last night and immediately dropped out of the game, so that helped too. Really like the new maps. |

I lost every twitch tossup until I switched to the shotgun. As long as I keep from getting trigger happy from a distance, I've been near or better than a 1/1 k/d average on each map. I doubt I'll ever make up from those first few weeks to get near a 1/1 overall, however. Anyone figure out how to read that new post-match graphic? |

It seemed like a one shot one kill type thing. LOL Fun playing with ya again. I just have to remember to charge my mic! |

I think a person or two I met playing random games who are now on my friends list nabbed them a few weeks back, too. |

re: Battlefield Talk
Wait...there's no way to see of list of the people you've taken tags from in BF3???
THAT SUCKS! |

I still need to get the new maps dammit. I noticed the recoil seems pretty heavy on all the guns compared to BFBC2, but since I haven't played in awhile it could just be me.

re: Battlefield Talk
It tends to work okay in squads of two but when you fill it up with three or four it gets spotty every time. Even the times it works best it's not 100%. It's a bummer because sometimes two-man squads are now more fun because you can do real teamwork by talking to each other while four-person squads have teamwork but the tendency to go silent is easier and the community element can be lacking as a result.
May or may not be on tonight. I've been having some earlier mornings than usual this week. |
re: Battlefield Talk
I starting using the USAS-12 based on Chess' comments. Gotta say, that thing f'n rocks. In close quarters it can't be beat. My only suggestion is only use it as support, or with someone that is playing support cuz the ammo is gone QUICKLY. Starts out holding 7 rounds in the chamber/magazine, and you only get 22 more. It's fully automatic so the rounds go very very fast. But it's so very satisfying one-shot killing pretty much everybody.

I'll be on for a bit tonight if anybody wants to roll...should be a good time with all the douchebags on CoD. ;) |
re: Battlefield Talk
<--- Back in the "this game fucking sucks" camp. It shouldn't be this hard to find a usable gun in a shooting game.
|
re: Battlefield Talk
I can't remember what class you're running, chess, but I'm having great luck with the M4A1 as an Engineer, even without the IRNV: 1237 of my 2348 kills (53%). When I run Support I use the M249 and when I run Recon I use the M1014 shotgun.
