Is it a good time to buy a PS3?

Uncharted was on sale on Buy.com yesterday for $10.99. It's sold out now, but keep an eye for it to come back in stock. It's a steal for that price.

Nice price. Its on the radar. It really helps that there are some many cheaper affordable games out there.
I could be wrong but it seems like there is a never a reason to pay full price for a PS3 game, as long as you have a little patience and look for a deal.
I debated between Kill Zone 3 bundle and the $50 gift card, but since I don't know much about Kill Zone and can start with the cheaper games of it, I went the gift card route, since I want The Show 11.
Kmart is offering the Show 11 free with a PS160 purchase when it comes out but I'm not sure if Best Buy would offer that or match it, plus I'm thinking I can get The Show for $50 or less anyway....... I don't have to have it the week it comes out if its not onsale. I used $205 in reward zone certs which is why I had to get it from best buy (plus $50 in gift cards.........I paid $53.xx and came away with a PS3 and a $50 gift card).

That's usually true, only exception would be if you're looking at playing mutiplayer, the online community might not be as strong down the road. The only time I get a game at release is if it something I'm so excited to play, it will jump right to the top of my queue, and it's usually something with an online component. Also, even when I buy a game at release, I will ususally use Amazon Credit from my Rewards Credit Card (and sometimes they will throw in more Amazon Credit as a preorder bonus), so it doesn't feel like full price.

What to get with that giftcard:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Battlefi...mate&lp=2&cp=1
Comes with Onslaught Mode (multiplayer co-op) and Battlefield 1943 Download (together worth at least $20).
Cheaper on Amazon: $37 shipped.

I'm on my second PS3. However, my first was a launch model 60GB PS3 that was used as a floor model at Sams until 4 years ago. So it lasted a good long time for me before I got the YLOD. I just got it repaired as well as got a brand new 160GB slim. Gotta say, I'm lovin' the slim and won't be surprised if it lasts even longer than my fat PS3 did.

Had an XBox 360 before from 2006 until 2008 when it died and was out of warranty. Got a PS3 in late 2009 after the PS2 being probably my least favorite of the prior gen systems. The PS3 easily is my favorite current generation system. Great graphics and games, blu-ray, netflix for no additional cost, PS3 media server, movie rentals etc. It truly is the perfect home entertainment system. granted there are a few xbox 360 exclusive titles I'd love to play, but the PS3 has plenty of great titles too.

I'm still loving and working my way through Goldeneye on the Wii so I think I'm going to stay away from the FPS on the PS3 until I get through that game........
Hoping for a deal MLB The Show 11 when it comes out from Bestbuy.
My PS3 seems kind of loud when the discs eject. I assume this is normal, maybe its not even that loud, its just not silent.

I'm on my first 360 and my second PS3.
My 60gb got the ylod, but then I do use it to watch all DVDs and BDs. Games I alternate between the two, except all rhythm games and all Netfix is on the 360.

Price drop on day 46 for more than $50......... ticked.
Then again, I'm loving the PS3, so its not like I'll feel like I could have waited.
Anything I should be doing to prevent whatever problem it is people have that cause their PS3 to break?

Re: Is it a good time to buy a PS3?
Aww......... just reflecting back on the PS3 decision. I love this thing. I seem to play it way more than I did my PS2, but maybe that's just my memory. Funny looking at all the games, advice, etc... and where I am now in my collection.
Medal of Honor has been my favorite non-sports game (I also have RDR, Batman, and UC2 which I haven't got too far into, I got hooked on MofH). Online on Medal of Honor is fun but I'm terrible!
I've played NHL 11 the most, but also got NBA 2K11, Show 11, and just got NCAA 12 which I'm getting into you a lot. Madden 12 is already preordered.
Interestingly, if you count a gift card with purchase as off the purchase price, I haven't paid $60 for any games. In fact $45 for The Show and $40 for NCAA 12 have been the most expensive games. Makes sense I suppose because my non-sports games weren't exactly new releases.
