Fight Night Champion

Is anybody here getting this game? I reallyed enjoyed round 4, so I will most likely get this one. I played the demo and beat Ali by decision. What are some tips to KO him?

Re: Fight Night Champion

For sure getting this game. I love the "role playing" vision of this game rather than just creating a boxer and having no real back story.

Re: Fight Night Champion

Have you ever played Don King Boxing? It was pretty good, had a back story with your character.

No, it piqued my interest but I recall the reviews being marginal.

It would be nice if I could even win one round in the demo

Re: Fight Night Champion

Have it on reserve with the BB $10 deal. The ratings are a joke and some really dumb stuff are still in it (ex. counter-windows), but there is definitely more good than bad.

Re: Fight Night Champion

I played the demo online and was very impressed with it. I was actually landing punches (mainly jabs) by timing the opponents movement and just when I thought that's where it would get repetitive...he changed the way he would move. What's more impressive than that even is the announcers made note of it and his corner man called it out as well - freakin' crazy.

I'm just going to rent it. I liked the last two games in the series (they're the only ones I've played,) but not enough to buy this one for full price.

I picked this up and started playing Champion mode. So far it's a cool story, but I keep getting my ass handed to me, even on amateur. It's just not fun anymore. I am getting rid of it.

Ugh... I was waiting to get feedback before I bought this. I find too many games lately are a pain in the ass and no fun despite the glowing reviews (Need for Speed being the last one that burnt me out fast).

I found past Fight Night games to be either way too hard or way too easy just based on one setting to the next... there never seems to be a middle ground.

Re: Fight Night Champion

The other problem is they want you to do certain things in Champion mode. Like I beat the hell out of this one dude, he's cut, bleeding, and looking like a side of beef, yet he wins the fight by decision because I didn't work his body enough.

And flash ko's can kiss my ass.

EDIT: I got a little better, and things seemed to be going well. That is until the last fight in Champion Mode. You fight
Spoiler:
Issac Frost, and the first two rounds you hve to avoid all his punches. The next three rounds, you have to land 75 body shots. I didn't find out what comes after that since the dude hits about 10 times harder than Tyson from the Punch-Out games and you'll be lucky to get up after being knocked down twice.

I might try Legacy mode for the achievements, but I am definitely getting rid of this.

Damn. That's a real shame. I had fun with the demo and was looking forward to picking this up.

Definitely disappointing to hear that. I really liked the demo.
