Yeah, sorry, I got my Battlefield threads mixed up. I have both consoles, but I do all my multi-console first-person-shooters on the 360, due to it's controller and Live.

Does this game support split screen multiplayer?

How the fuck do I join the BF3 Battlelog? (And I'm playing the game on 360.)

Anytime I try to sign in using my Orgin ID, it says Your account is not allowed to login.

What the fuck EA?

Worked fine for me. Login is your email address and password.

Didn't work for me either. I created an EA/Origin account this morning and I can't login to Battlelog.

I got the same thing, I had them send my password to the email that i have been using for 15+ years, and they did, but they wont allow my username to be the only username I have ever used...ivelostr2...I had to create another username, ivelostr22, to be able to log in. It would not accept ivelostr2. BULLSHIT!

Well, I made it to the fourth or fifth level in single player before giving up. The ENTIRE game is pitch black and full of more lens flares than a J.J. Abrams film. You can't see any enemies, let alone be expected to shoot them. I have eagerly waited over a year for this game, and am extremely upset so far. Once my XBOX account is done being "investigated" due to the stupid FIFA hackers, I'll give the online a shot. I ruled at BFBC2 and am now kind of expecting this game's mulitplayer to fall short :(

I had the "Your account is not allowed to login" for all of Tuesday. Then, when I went to play multiplayer, I selected it and let it sit for a while until it opened up a quick match session. After playing at least one game, I was able to go back to Battlelog and log in. None of that was clear whatsoever and it was really frustrating.

R2, maybe use your regular ID to play one game, then login to Battlelog.

You use the same login credentials that you use for NCAA12, etc.

My EA/Origin ID is an email. Try logging in with your email. Once inside, you'll be able to select ivelostr2 as your "soldier."

Don't worry, the multiplayer is great. It plays very much like BC2. The game is much more realistic though. The visuals alone make it more difficult as there is so much more detail in the maps it can be difficult to spot enemies. Imagine this will be worse on Xboxs upscaled 620p resolution or whatever it is. And the addition of prone means you need to move a little slower lest you run right into an enemy's sights. In BC2 you could go solo pretty easily and do well for yourself, hanging with your squad seems more important in BF3.

On the PC version, I think this was the most annoying game i've ever dealt with just to get started to play.

I know! Unless it's supposed to be scary or a horror title, I hate it when games keep throwing you into the dark. That's something previous generations did to keep their technical limitations hidden. There's no excuse for that shit here.

One thing they need to address is the ability to customize the Russian loadout from the My Soldier menu.

Edit: Just read that once you reach a certain xp in a class it gives you the ability to do so.

Re: Battlefield 3

Then they should make that clear. I can't think of specifics, but it seems like there are little things about this game I'm supposed to just know or find out from an outside source. It should be intuitive within the game itself.

One of the ways I can tell this game is relying on players to be FPS regulars - and one of the reasons I feel like a casual gamer in a hardcore gamer world - is in some of the wording they have in the game. At one point, they point out how doing such-and-such is "easier than ever before!" Well, that's true, if that notion is predicated on prior knowledge / experience, of which I have very little.

So glad to play with friends last night. My first 1.5 hours with the game, no one was on a mic except some guy who wouldn't talk to us but wouldn't turn down his TV or ask the people around him to be quiet. That's when I noticed I don't have the option to mute certain people like I do in BFBC2. That's essential when you have a squad of three friends and one other random jumps in and has his mic way too loud or won't stop raging or tossing out his homosexual slurs, etc. I like that I can go team or squad chat but the mute individuals option needs to return.

Re: Battlefield 3

They need to allow people to customize their kits and appearance and at least access the options during the ultra-ridiculous locked up load screen between matches. Who the fuck okayed that masterful 40 seconds of limbo?
forcing people to wait through that screen before they can even quit the game, and then requiring no prompts whatsoever to start the next match is so idiotic and hurts the multiplayer game... since people in BC2 would drop their controller to take a shit or something and they would enter and be an inactive squad member in the next game.

Re: Battlefield 3

+1000 on all of that, mmconhea.

And why can't we know if we're spawning in as Russian or US beforehand? I also don't necessarily like how it doesn't automatically replay the map for the next round, either, with teams in reverse roles. I think having that in BFBC2 helped with the learning curve.

servers are still pretty glitchy for me - I was booted out of 5 of my last 7 matches today. and twice my Slim PS3 just locked up. The last time it locked up it put me in some weird limbo wehere I could see black shadows on a blue tinted world. but I could doo nothing. I could hear both teams talking though.

This is my biggest problem with the game. The wait in between matches is so annoying. And how slowly it shows you your pins and awards ONE BY ONE. I get it on the consoles, where loading times are a big concern, but there's no reason for this on PC. It should never be more than 15 seconds before you're able to jump into the next map. Just display all the info at once like BC2, load the map in the background, and let us fucking play.

Also agree that they need to fix the map rotation. I like playing the same map twice and switching sides. It also seems like there are not many custom servers yet? A lot of the BC2 servers would limit the rotation to one or two maps and give them 500-1000 tickets. I love those really long matches where by the end, the entire map is in ruin. I feel like a lot of the games so far are going too fast with 64 players and only 200 tickets or whatever.

The maps replayed for me with the teams switching sides.
