The Dedication achievement - "Play online 6 months after your first time." Also known as the "Please don't trade in this game!" achievement.

It has, not surprisingly, failed to unlock for a lot of people.

Well it specifically says 6 months from the first time you play online, not six months from release day. I didn't play online until a couple weeks after launch. I sold it off though. The MP did nothing for me.

I just played a few matches when I got the game, and it wasn't that bad, but not really my kind of MP game.

But SP was great, I actually played it twice, like most here.

This game is down to $15 (used) over on Amazon and I was wondering if there was any online pass or anything one would miss by buying used on this game. It's EA, so I am fearing the worst. I know the limited edition has a couple of goodies, but I am just going normal on this one.

No. There was a bonus, but it was some weapon skins and MP level bonus, IIRC.

I finally bit at $13. It kept going down, and I was pretty much playing a game with Warehouse Deals :). Picked up a couple of other cheapies including Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for 8.49 and Lego POTC for 12.47. Hopefully I get to play one of these sometime soon ;)

I'm thinking of getting this to tie me over till Borderlands 2 comes. I pulled up a video review of the game and it said it comes in around 10-11 hrs SP missions. i don't plan on any MP; just do the single player and trade it back in. Is there more to it like DLC for SP and does the 10-11 hrs sound about right?

There is no SP DLC. 10 hours sounds about right but you'll likely want to play through on hard on your second playthrough since you get to keep your powers/upgrades. It's pretty fun just obliterating everything the second time through.

Thank...Amazon has it new for 20 and used around $12 (with shipping at $4). Is there any reason to get new vs used ...say for codes or whatever?

Oh one other thing...the few reviews i ed sy there ae some bugs in the game....how bad?

I had quite a few bugs, I bitched about them earlier in the thread, but AFAIK I was the only DVDtalker that had a problem. I had one level ending bug where you're supposed to hop on an elevator but there was an invisible wall that prevented me from going further. I had to restart the level. That was the biggest but I had a bunch of minor glitches.

The game comes with a MP DLC code with some weapons, and a "fast level" pass that jumps you to Level 5 instead of leveling up normally. It was kinda pointless because under level 5 keeps you in the kiddie pool while you learn the MP mechanics. Level 5+ dumps you in with the veterans. I wouldn't worry about the DLC code at all, even if you plan on playing MP.

MP is dead now anyway. It's very difficult to find a match without using a site like trueachievements.com to schedule a session.

Picked this up for $20 at Walmart (for PS3) and am enjoying it so far. Like the the different tactics that can be employed to work your way through each area.

I think they achieved a pretty good balance on how the suit abilities work. The limited time they can be used really makes you think about what you need to do to get past a given situation (Can I really make it to that building cloaked?).

Although the PS3 version is supposed to be inferior, it looks great. Love the heat effect near flames and the nifty particle effects.

I picked this game up about a week ago for the PS3. I have also loved FPS on my Alienware, but console FPS's have always been very hit or miss. This one i was very pleasantly surprised with. I loved the original Crysis, and this is a pretty enjoyable follow up. Its not the best ever made, but for less than $20 its a good buy IMO. Looking forward to Crysis 3 now.

This was a surprise to me. I think I got it used, just to see what the fuss was all about. I had a lot of fun. It's one of those weird cases were I had to play the game again, immediately after finishing it, New Game +, or whatever is called.And yeah, the second playthrough is really quick, but still a lot of fun.

I really think Crysis 2 is easily one of the best single-player first-person-shooters out there.

this...I had a blast with it...and I am one of the few that actually enjoyed himself more with it than 1 or warhead...

I also happen to be one of the few that liked the second half of Crysis 1 better than the first half....so maybe I am just weird...

I am still amazed how good the game looks on the 360.

Crysis 2 was amazing looking, but I enjoyed the open parts of Crysis 1 the most. I liked driving a jeep through to an objective through a random path, or jumping off a bridge to the river way below to escape enemy fire, then sneaking back into the base. Crysis 2 definitely had some amazing moments though.

I really wish the upgrade system in Crysis 2 was a little more rpg like, in the sense that as you used the suit your stealth got incrementally longer, you could slowly take more bullets, steps got quieter, etc. I wasn't a huge fan of the three options for upgrades to apply only one at a time for each category.

Well thanks for the input guys. I've got a friend at work who said he'll loan me his game over the weekend to try it out. I'll probably end up getting it anyways. It was this or Resident Evil 5 Gold and play coop with a friend. I tried playing some Bordelands but been there and done it (four characters at level 61 or more) and Gears 3 is wearing a bit thin with the Onyx Medal challenges.

Also thanks for the tip on playing the second play thru since all of your abilities are kept from the first.

I actually have never played any of the Crysis games, 1 or Warhead. Not sure if I missed much in 2 because of that. But yeah, still had a lot of fun. And a great positive surprise.

Plotwise, I don't think you missed much of anything. Heck, the lead character of Crysis, Nomad, doesn't even appear in Crysis 2. The only characters from Crysis that are set to return in Crysis 3 are Prophet and Psycho (the latter being the main character in Crysis: Warhead, which is a side-story to Crysis).
