Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I sold my Aviatrix skin pre-order code on eBay for $16. I honestly thought about buying it anyway since it looks cool and is available on the marketplace for 80 MSP. I might do that for my next playthrough.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Another late comer to the party and I have to say I absolutely loved this game. I am a very casual gamer only sports and the odd racing title I will buy, and I have only finished about 3 games in the 3 decades I have been into video games, but a few minutes into this game and I was hooked. It was darker than any previous TR game, the visuals were awesome especially the wind blowing and stuff exploding all around you, and how many of you guys wanted to use the axe to the guy's head as frequently as possible? :)
I finished at 70% will go back to look for the missing stuff, but had a question I picked this game up at Walmart and the game label said something about a map and an outfit, really confused about how I would get this? thanks. |
Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
There is a code on a card in the box for an additional multiplayer map. I've played enough of the multiplayer to get to level 20 and I have yet to play that map.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
ah ok everything I have heard about the multiplayer is terrible, apparently you cannot play as Lara till around level 60, doesnt bode well when I am forced to play as that Harry Potter look alike.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
I didn't even know you could change your outfit.
|
Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Me neither. But my PC preorder only came with a Pistol Burst and Animal Instinct upgrade. I'm happy with Lara the way she looks though. It was cool how her clothes got more and more ragged as the game went along.
Curious if the extra skins would do that too. |

The only DLC costume worth downloading is the eventual nude mod :)

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Finished this last night. This game was a joy to play, and seemed fresh despite the reuse of elements from a lot of different games (it's more or less a Metroidvania version of Uncharted). Maybe not as good as Uncharted 2, but certainly better than Uncharted 3. My only complaints are that it's glitchy at times, and that at times it goes a little too heavy on the cutscenes and quicktime events.

What does the animal instinct do?

:hscratch: The normal game does that.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Maybe you just don't have to unlock it/spend points on it?
|
Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
i picked this up yesterday from Redbox. I think i'm almost done with it, which i'll finish tomorrow. Fuck if this isn't a good game. I think it's better than Uncharted, honestly.

The animals glow in instinct mode but go back to normal once you start moving. Maybe they glow even when you leave instinct mode. |

Rented from Redbox, too, but I had to keep mine about a week, as I was only able to play for a few hours at a time. Where are you up to in the game? Spoiler:

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
For me, animals didn't glow in instinct mode until I picked up a skill. It was one of the last skills I got because hunting is such a PITA and I don't really do it.
|
Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
Oh, maybe it's the first skill I bought. Hell I don't know.

This game still cracks me up, everytime you think Lara has been through the worst of it, things keep getting worse.

You still have a way to go yet. I've only been through it once so far, but if I remember correctly, that part is a little past halfway.

Re: Tomb Raider (a.k.a. Tomb Raider 9)
No Single Player DLC Planned For Tomb Raider There are currently no plans for Tomb Raider single player DLC according to Crystal Dynamic's global brand manager. When asked during a Reddit 'Ask Me Anything', Karl Stewart explained that the company was focusing entirely on the multiplayer portion of the game for the time being. In response to a query about what adventures future single player DLC would hold for Lara, Stewart replied, "There are currently no plans in place for any Single Player expansions. All of our DLC is based around the Multiplayer experience for now." The first such multiplayer DLC for the game, the Caves & Cliffs map pack, released earlier this week on Xbox 360 as a timed exclusive, so expect it to crop up on PS3 and PC at some currently undefined point in the future. http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/03/...or-tomb-raider |
