I was playing as the Yankees, I assume it was Posada.

I'm getting wrecked online this year too. Maybe I just need to get my timing down a little better.

I can't believe how disciplined the hitters are at the AA and AAA levels. They NEVER swing at balls, even if it's just the slightest bit outside the strike zone.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

So my internet was down and I noticed the intro graphics did not stutter like it usually does. So it would appear something's up when it's trying to communicate with the PSN at that point. Seems like something they would have patched already.

I'm really liking the RTTS. However, i do not feel comfortable at all with running the bases as half of the time I'm not sure where the ball is hit and if it might be caught. The cameras are still a bit awkward and have cost me on more than one occasion in the same game.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

Was anyone else waiting until the last minute to use their free 1-month of MLB.TV?

I was, so that I could watch the Indians and the Reds the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. Now that PSN is down, which means that I can't get online to download the app and the code expires tomorrow.

I wonder if I should contact Amazon to get a new code or get the expiration date pushed back? Or contact Sony, San Diego Studios or MLB.TV?

Redeem the code on the website ps3.com/mlbtv. And thanks for the reminder, I need to go do that right now. Is this one of those deals where you will need to cancel or they will charge you after the 30 days to keep it going? If so, I may not even bother.

I redeemed the code Friday. I had already downloaded the APP, but you still needed to get onto the PSN to sync the PS3 so that stinks.

I wonder if we'll get an extension or something if the PSN is down much longer.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

I redeemed the code and have watched the games on my laptop. It's not as nice as the PS3 on a HDTV, but it'll do until PSN comes back. If I end up having to watch all the month's worth of games on my laptop, so be it.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

Random question: I created a pitcher in RTTS and he has a change up. I want to make that change as slow as possible. My question is, when you're using training points on your change up velocity will that drive your velocity up or down? Logically it would drive the velocity down on a change because slower is better but I don't trust the game to do that.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

It'll make your change up faster, I would concern myself more on movement and control and leave the velocity as low as you can keep it.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

Thanks that's what I figured so I haven't touched the change up velocity at all. Of course I can't help but have it go up during the training mini games. I really wanted a 100mph fastball with a 75mph change up. Guess that can't happen though.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

Maybe it's just me, but I have my fastball velocity at 100 in the skills selection screen, but have never hit higher than 97 in an actual game...typically 94-95. It's disappointing (and yes, I select full power during the pitching motion).

Re: MLB 11: The Show

Weird. I have mine around 90 on the skills but I regularly hit 96-98. I also selected power pitcher at the beginning of the game, slid the slide all the way to power pitcher over control.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

hm, that must be it. I don't remember how I originally built the pitcher. I'm guessing I evened it more out between control/velocity.

Re: MLB 11: The Show

OK here's a new one:

I'm playing RTTS and I'm in right field. The ball is hit and the ball graphic is showing on the wall. I stand right in front of the wall and catch it - it goes in my glove. No jump or anything. A second later, the announcer goes "he dropped the ball" and I see the arrows pointing in. The ball is laying next to home plate and the hitter never left the box. I run ALL THE WAY to the plate, pick up the ball and throw to first, and nothing happens. I had to kill the game.

Wow, never seen that before. Wish you had a video. That's crazy.
