Black Friday Video Game Discussion

So can we talk about this here?

Looks like Toys R us has the best deal so far amongst places that have 'allowed' their ads to be displayed.

Don't know if any stores "allow" it, but the Beast Buoy ad is out and they have some great Blu and game prices.

Re: Black Friday Video Game Discussion

All the ads I've seen so far have been terrible for video games. I guess kmart's sales recently have just been too good and everything else just looks like garbage.

Amazon matched every single blu and game I wanted last year. I'll just one-click with prime shipping from home, thank you very much!

I hope they do, because I'd like to get Predators Blu for $10, but not fight those crowds.

I learned many years ago that not one deal, not one, is worth getting up that early, standing in line and dealing with that many insane people.

Not even for the opportunity to trample someone to death and then disappear into the mob?

The only way I think it would be worth it is for big expensive items like a TV or computer, or if you're buying a ton of stuff for different people. Going for a video game or a few movies? No way.

I wonder when this transition happened? I remember 10ish years ago, it was kind of like a fun tradition to get up and hit the sales. There were people, but it wasn't a nightmare like now.

It depends on where you go. The only places I have ever been to that are truely nuts are Wal-Mart and Best Buy.

Sears usually has good deals and not huge crowds. That being said, Amazon has had such good deals the past two years that I see no need to leave my house.

Re: Black Friday Video Game Discussion

BF was fun, that all changed about 3 years ago when SA became over populated and all the trash came and ruined the city. Its horrible now.

Ill just stick to amazon, but Im really hoping for someone to have the new XBox360 for $200 with a $100 GC. On that note, are these new 360 still magnets for the RROD?

Re: Black Friday Video Game Discussion

Yeah, Amazon meets all my needs now... Plus its kind of fun sitting online waiting for the deals and see what they are. Much better than dealing with the mouth breathers and the B&Ms. I will go later in the day just to watch the hysteria.

Absolutely not. Microsoft has removed the red LEDs from the new design of this console so you'll never see a red ring any more.

So....... Does that mean it will fail without warning?

No, they're much more reliable now. Shouldn't be a problem with the system.

Re: Black Friday Video Game Discussion

RROD was without warning, it was just an indicator. The indicator now is a red dot. It will happen with as much or as little warning as before.

Great, except that those coupons aren't active until 11/28, which is the Sunday after Black Friday.

I'm hoping Amazon offers a good deal for Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition (PC) on Black Friday.

Can the retail version of that game be activated on Steam?
