I can understand the motivation for a game like Doom which was awesome and innovative for it's time, but against a more modern shooter like HL2 or Halo, hmmm.. It comes back to whether it's a list of classic games or a list of great games that still hold up today. Currently a mix of the 2 I would suggest. I would admit, the interface of Baldur's Gate 2 is pretty clunky these days.

Or hell, two or three moves a day just to keep the list changing. It doesnt really matter to me, and im not even sure how to set up an actual end or just let it go until people get bored

Meanwhile, I think uncharted is now the only slot that hasnt changed.

Top 10 Video Games Ever

I agree a mix of the old and new would make sense. And I'd say Morrowind was a better RPG than BG2.

Ever is fine, but would I rather play Doom than HL2? No. But I might choose to play Doom instead of Haze, Timeshift, Turning Point, etc., so not to say that it isn't still a very playable game today. Baldur's Gate 2, I'm still having trouble finding the RPG that tops that. I thought it could be Dragon Age but that didn't quite work out. I understand your point about Morrowind but it is a very different beast from BG2, and I prefer a more fleshed out story driven experience as opposed to an open world.

I still remember the first time I ever saw Gran Turismo. I hadn't heard a thing about it. I was in an electronic store in Japan in Feb 1998 (for the Winter Olympics). My jaw hit the floor. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Seems quaint now, but there was NOTHING like it in gaming at the time.

I played Super Mario World as much as anyone when it came out, but I do not get the obsession with Mario, or Zelda either for that matter when it comes to trying to force them into these lists. Yes, it is a fun game, but a GOAT? Why don't we add fucking Tetris to the list while we're at it...

Silent Hill is my favourite survival horror series and the second game is the pinnacle of that series. Resident Evil makes me jump occasionally but never creeps me out or makes me truly scared. The Silent Hill games ooze atmosphere and boast the best soundtracks of any games in the genre. True horror in gaming.
