Still, it is worth picking up for the "total" package....but if you don't plan on doing the MP, or at least coop the spec ops with a friend, the value drops...and is only worth 15-20 bucks....

MW 2 is essentially "Michael Bay: The Game."
The MP was tons of fun until the hackers started to mess things up big time and Infinity Ward drug their feet about fixing it. Then again, when you have a buggy mess of a game and people still shovel out $15 for maps, why do anything to improve it.

If you're just in it for the storyline, there's not much substance. But the gameplay is fantastic. I've gone back and run through some of those levels 30-40 times. One of the most enjoyable single-player games I've ever played.

Or is pushing it very hard to get the initial buy before word of mouth spreads. Look how hard Fox pushed Lone Star and it was canceled after two episodes.

Spoiler:
And I know SF is far more tech friendly and perhaps gamer friendly than LV, but seriously I've never seen any ad push like this for a game. It was like the ad campaign for a huge summer blockbuster : Billboards, ads on bus stops, in train stations, sides of buses. It was ubiquitous.
My theory is they developed a game that they feel is a strong challenger to Call Of Duty and are trying really hard to get a big piece of that pie. Maybe there's logic to that -- this isn't the Halo franchise we're talking about; CoD didn't become a sales monster until CoD4 : Modern Warfare. Maybe they're trying to position themselves as the Rock Band to CoD's Guitar Hero? I doubt it'll work, but assuming the game is at least as good as Bad Company 2, I can't fault them for trying.

I don't know, you don't become the #1 game publisher in the world by badly misreading the marketplace, and I don't see EA pouring unlimited resources to promote a losing turd of a game. Exhibit A :

I'll be getting this this week, I loved the beta on the ps3. gameplay and controls were spot on, plus the sound of the guns and when you get there version of a killstreak sounds UNBELIEVABLE. the guns in this game sound so powerful. its amazing.

I never came across any glitchers in BC2 MP either... which is why I gave up on MW2. I can't wait to get this game. Any 360 owners, feel free to send me a friend request.

^^ Not exactly a glowing review. I was really hoping Dice was going to stay with the BC2 MP formula. I enjoy the MW2 experience online --- but there's something way more satisfying to having an actual strategy to accumulate points in BC2 that you can't get by running and gunning in MW2.

Yeah I loved BC2, and wish I did not get away from it when I did...I was just starting to get rolling when I got pushed into another game....that is my biggest problem with any MP game, I am to easily distracted.
Still I will probably get Medal of Honor at Kmart for 35 bucks, and get another 25 dollar game credit to use on Fallout next week...

So Fox, how is this game? I figure you've already finished the single player and you're at Level 10 in MP by now

^^ Uh oh. I've been jonesing for a new (non-Halo) FPS for a while now so this game will have to do until CoD comes out; low scores and all. The scores are more ammo for the fact that when you place a review embargo on your game, it's probably because it sucks.

Even if it's not as good as COD, I paid $40 for two games (Frontline) and it looks like it'll be pretty sweet. No complaints here (well, not yet!).

I knew that the two game components were developed by different developers, but I had no idea that they used different game engines. That's pretty strange.
Joystiq's review is up. They liked it more :
