Follow up, where is the stable. I am not playing, my son is but we got him the deluxe edition for his birthday and I have been watching him play and I have yet to see a stable. He is on the last mission of Chapter 3.

Stables are also marked on the map. Most are in towns but some are along roads. There's one right inside Valentine which he should have been to already.

There's a mission in Chapter 2 that requires to to use a stable and walks you through all the things you can do there.

He may have just missed the part where his son did that. Speaking for myself, I didn’t go to a stable after that until the start of chapter 4, and I never went to a stable again afterwards. (Unless there’s a mission I’m forgetting.)

Played a bit of the online this morning before work. I'll get back to it eventually but I'm knee deep in my second play through.
I know it sounds tedious, but do yourselves a favor and get the Legend of the East Satchel before you get too far into the game. It carries everything and the earlier you get it, the more it's worth the work.

Played a few hours of online and was quite surprised that it wasn’t a war zone like GTA. You could actually be around other people and not just get attacked on sight.
It was stable as hell too, had no glitches or disconnects at all.

Wait until the machine gun mounted horses show up. I always played GTA online in a private server because of the sheer number of people that just wanted to blow you up over and over again.

Damn,Red Dead Online is great, f'n seamless...it plays so good that often times I feel like I'm playing the single player mode. Love that they put Bonnie McFarlane in the game as well.
Even really like some of the deathmatch modes. I also love how you can start your game af first load up at whatever region you want.

Hello All
I have a friend who is looking to get RDR2 but hasn't kept up with much on the game in general...the missions, story, quest, in game currency, grinding for_____, the how food & health works and now the new MP aspect (PvP and co-op)...along with any serious bugs. So wanted to hear from others and just a overall feeling on the pros and especially the "Cons"....since she got Fallout 76 and last thing needs another game where it's even with both.
For one...how is the survival part...your food & health along with taking care of your horse? In 76 it's become almost 35% of the game in terms of always needing and your stash....which how is that in the game? It's sort of taken away from the enjoyment.
We both played the first one long ago and everyone like the Co-op part with Posses and going after the Bad guys hideout....has that become available or is it just a open PvP now? And is the MP in a separate area/server or like they're trying in Fallout 76 everyone same map same time which has become annoying at times. Thanks for any input so I can pass along...game is still in my mix but I need to wrap up Origins and waiting on Warframe Fortuna.

You don't need to "grind" if you don't want to. Not really. There's no real "RPG" elements as far as your character goes. There are some upgrades here and there, but nothing that's truly necessary - and there's no "leveling up". You can play at your own leisure, hunting/crafting, if you want, or just completely skipping all that, and just focusing on the story missions, and or just plain exploring the world and running into random shit. While the missions have to be played in a specific way, the overall game, in how you approach it, is entirely up to you.

I still have no idea what eating/drinking does for your character other than restoring health or stamina. You do want to level up your horse a bit since that will make travel easier. But it's not at all time consuming. Take a ride somewhere; when you get off feed/brush your horse. Two quick button presses and you're done.

Supposedly, you cannot take as much damage, but your stamina is better if you are underweight. If you are overweight, this is reversed.

I'm still in Chapter 2 for the single player but I started playing Red Dead Online and I'm now at Level 4. I want to create a permanent, private posse but the currency needed will take me forever to make one.

Forgot I was playing a limited beta when online was first released. Yeah, passive mode needs to be implemented in this game but sadly, I don't think it will be - the reason I say that is because of how your camp works (white flag) I think that's the only spot where you will have control on if you can be attacked or not.

I do not remember the first game making us go through this process in order to play co-op or form a posse. Is this modeled after GTA V online? I may be one of the few people that have yet to play that game, single player or online.
My friends and I just want to form a posse and do some missions, but I guess that's impossible until we acquire a certain amount of currency without strangers online randomly killing us.

Anyone who's gotten on the beta from the start until I think Wed of this week will get 15 gold bars and $250 from Rockstar, so enough to cover the $200 posse fee.

Every time I load into online, my horse isn't there when I whistle for him and I always get the scrawny nag. Think I am done with this one.

That's weird. I've never had that happen, not that I don't believe you. Remember, this is just the beta. It's gonna have issues and be pretty bare bones. I've been lucky so far with not seeing many bugs online or being booted from servers. Just random dbags who try to shoot me from behind.
