Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

So with the export, does it only let you import from RB2, or does your 10 bucks get an export from other ones too? I have 1 and 2, but never got the export on 1

I assume you have to export from 1 to 2 first so they are officially songs from 2 and then export from 2 to 3, in which case I'll just keep em lol.

Each export just puts those songs to the hard drive for the library. They're independent.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but the PS3 save file is not copy-protected this time. Yay!

Since no one has mentioned it (and I can't check now), I assume the RB2 export download does not feature any RB3 features.

According to Rock Band's twitter feed you can contact EA to get a replacement code.

The RB1 songs already show up in my list and I haven't done anything to export them. Is he talking about other RB1 songs?

I want to punch something right now.

My GameStop, and the entire mall it's in, was without electricity.

I love how [the majority] of us have 90 new songs to play and people are fretting over RB2 songs that they probably won't even play for weeks, especially given the impressive slate of DLC on the way.

Okay, here is what I got for you...

Are You Experienced?:
Spoiler:

Crosstown Traffic - Awesome. (I played this earlier, rated it 4/5)

Hey Joe (Live) - Failed it at 65%, but it isn't really hard. It just has some really fast rolls and my left arm is fucked up because I had stitches last week, so I couldn't do them. It was really fun though.

Purple Haze - It was okay, 3/5.

May This Be Love - Pretty fun, most of the song consists of a set of fills that was fun to play, not too difficult.

Foxey Lady - 4/5

Manic Depression - 1/5, I failed it a few days ago. I just remember it was pretty chaotic and random.

Love or Confusion - Fun, 3/5, pretty chill, has some rolls and gets a little crazy occasionally, I couldn't keep a combo for shit though.

3rd Stone From The Sun - Another one that is just too frantic on the ride and snare, hate that shit. Couldn't get the rhythm and pretty much gave up at the beginning.

Highway Chile - A lot of fun, a little difficult.

Overall, I just really don't like this album, it shares a common theme with most of the songs being just too frantic and random for me, found it annoying. I wish I didn't buy this entire album, but instead just a few songs.

Axis: Bold As Love:
Spoiler:

I don't know if you already have this or not, but this is pretty much considered to be one of the best albums for drums. I agree for the most part, but I do find some of the songs to be a bit too difficult to my liking. Having said that, if you can handle it, or don't mind failing them (and just continuing playing), buy the whole album.

Couples of quick reviews:
Stone Free - Pretty fun, had a part during the end that I almost failed, just some annoyingly fast stuff with the ride and the snare. Overall it was fun though.

Valley of Neptune - Lots of weird shit in it, failed it during the outro, almost failed it around 75% in. Some people probably love it, but I didn't find it so great.

It was all done on Pro Expert. They are pretty subjective reviews since it all depends on how good you are on drums. You might find some songs I find to be frustrating to be easy, or vice versa.

I'm going to go play Visions in RB3 just to spite you. Oh wait.

Minor Gripe #65: Why is it they show you that you bested your previous score, but they can't just show you what that old score was? This isn't really any better than the old setup, since you would know if you saw the saving message. Weak.

Minor Gripe #66: Hopefully this is just a bug that is fixed, but... You can sort by date acquired, but the only choices are "Newly Acquired" or "Previously Acquired" and that's it. There is no dates at all.

There are quite a few RBN store songs that are currently unavailable for sale. I hope that gets fixed soon.

It's really odd, but each day that passes more of them are becoming available. Not sure what is going on.

I think they're getting them migrated over to the RB3 section of the marketplace.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution

UPS delivered my keyboard bundle from Dell today, even though it was originally supposed to arrive next Tuesday, then got moved up to this Thursday. If anyone else got in on that deal, looks like they're getting delivered quite a bit earlier than expected. Won't really have time to play until the weekend, but I popped it in to download the Doors pack and try a couple songs with the keyboard. Seems like a nice evolution to the series. I'm a more casual RB player than most of you all, so the biggest appeal to me is being able to have 7 people play at once. Looking forward to checking that out with a bunch of drunk friends.
