Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
Looks like some hints have dropped on RB.com for next week's DLC (to be announced on Wednesday). It's going to be Roadrunner Pack 02, and the only confirmed song is Trivium's "In Waves" (from their facebook page /w confirmation from the RB facebook page). Pretty sure the Dream Theater song will be a part of that pack as well.

Sweet.
Just to get the guesses going, RR is also home to Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Meat Loaf, Collective Soul, Megadeth, Nightwish, Opeth and Type O Negative.
My money is on Nightwish. They have a new album out on Dec. 2nd.

I'm going to guess another Machine Head song (off the new album), Stone Sour (ugh), Corey Taylor song from his X-Mas album (ugh, WTF?!), DevilDriver, Gojira, and Korn. Pretty random guesses, except for Machine Head.
Obviously Dream Theater makes sense for that pack too. It'd be amazing to get some Opeth, but I'm not holding my breath.

Looking at the artists mentioned lately, it seems to me Roadrunner Records is synonymous with Hell.

Hellyeah is not on Roadrunner. They're on Epic. Geez, Corvin!
Hellyeah is an American heavy metal supergroup, consisting of Mudvayne vocalist Chad Gray and guitarist Greg Tribbett, Nothingface guitarist Tom Maxwell, Damageplan bassist Bob Zilla, and former Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I posted this in the deals thread, but thought it would work here too:
I was at gamestop at lunch and saw a new Rock Band 3 bundle for sale. In includes a wireless fender guitar, the game and 5 DLC songs by RHCP. It was only $50. 360 only though Also, stand alone keyboards are $40 for every system and the keyboard stand is $10.
This bundle is $70 at Amazon.

Here's the announcement. Includes the Dream Theater song I figured we would get too, very awesome.
Dream Theater song is 9 minutes, and the Opeth song is over 10 minutes.
Dream Theater song is 9 minutes, and the Opeth song is over 10 minutes.
Hey gang,
Fans of blistering (prog) metal tracks and classic rock anthems are going to be in for a treat!
First up, Dream Theater make their long-awaited return with a track off of their 11th studio album, A Dramatic Turn of Events, released earlier this year. “On the Backs of Angels” is an epic track, nearing almost nine minutes, with multiple time changes woven throughout this intricate metal composition. Fans looking to go a bit deeper can upgrade “On the Backs of Angels” to Pro Guitar and Pro Bass for $0.99.
Opeth’s “Ghost of Perdition” from their critically acclaimed 2005 album, Ghost Reveries, will also be available in the pack.
The three-song pack is rounded out by Trivium’s “In Waves” from the band’s latest record of the same name.
Starship’s ‘80s classic, “We Built This City,” will also be available on the Rock Band Music Store. Off of 1985’s Knee Deep in the Hoopla, the track – with its memorable, sing-along chorus – reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A Pro Guitar and Pro Bass upgrade will also be available for Jane’s Addiction’s “Jane Says,” a track from the band’s first studio album, 1998’s Nothing’s Shocking.
Available on Xbox 360, Wii™ and PlayStation®3 system (November 29th, 2011):
• Dream Theater – “On the Backs of Angels” X
• Opeth – “Ghost of Perdition”

• Starship – “We Built This City”
Pro Guitar/Bass Upgrades for Legacy Songs
· Jane’s Addiction – “Jane Says”

We Built This City is a nice surprise in there. I'll have to listen to the DT song to see if it was worth the 4-year hype

Too bad that Trivium pack fucks up what would of been a perfect (IMHO) pack. Should of swapped it with a new track from Machine Head.

Right, I thought by "hype" he just meant your constant (deserved) plea for some more Dream Theater in the game, not the hype we've been putting on another Dream Theater song coming since they announced we would get one.

Re: The Official Rock Band Thread of Music Game Evolution
I did. It doesn't matter. I forgot there was even DT in the game, let alone one on a disc. I guess they never made that much of an impression on me, especially when it was still one of the most requested when normally we only do that for artists that aren't in the game yet. Carry on with your neo-metal.
