Another recommendation for Singularity. It's definitely not as good as Bioshock, but if you liked Bioshock, you'll probably like Singularity. And it's got some interesting time travel mechanics/puzzles. Well worth $8.

I found Singularity to be good as well. It was easily worth the $30 I paid for it, $8 is a no brainer.

JC2; best action/open-world game this generation!
Reminds me, I need to pop it in again.

I must be crazy or something, after reading years of Just Cause 2 hype I picked it up a while back. Absolutely HATED it. Terrible controls, couldn't even make it through the first couple missions...something about jumping car to car while protecting another car. Just an all around terrible game. Especially after playing GTA/Saints Row/Sleeping Dogs etc.

Just Cause 2 is one of my favorite games of this generations. Controlled great for me (on Steam, with a 360 controller). I have over 50 hours in the game so far and still revisit it from time to time.
Of course it has nothing to do with XBLA, but all our threads are tangential at this point.

I'm making the same face as your avatar right now.
I thought it was pretty decent, but Arkham City, Saints Row Third, Red Dead Redemption, Assassin's Creed 2 and Infamous leap to mind.
I'm also not sure where Oblivion/Skyrim/Fallout 3 fit in...maybe not "action" games...but at minimum action RPGs.

Well I'll throw this out...JC2 vs Far Cry 2?
Still considering Singularity, now playing Tomb Raider, ACII is coming out free shortly (360) but Far Cry 2 looks fun and seems JC2 is just insane fun

Having dismissed FC3 for the better half of 5 months or so, I finally picked it up cheap and can't put it down.I had read about all the redundant tower clearing, etc... this game is great! If you have OCD, stay away - there's a ton to do and the story seems pretty good so far.

I enjoyed FC3 Blood Dragon more than the regular game. Sure, it was much shorter, but it felt like less of a chore.

Speaking of Far Cry 3...did anyone play the co-op part and give some input as to how long, maps, length of missions, etc....
Have some friends who we all like coop games and play when we get the chance. I brought up Far Cry 3 last night and we remember it having some sort of co-op missions but we didn't know how many, length or if any DLC came later that added to it. Never knew anyone who played it so I'd thought I ask here. Thanks

I think there were 6 co-op missions that are completely separate from the main game. I recall my friend and I doing all 6 one evening and them not taking to long, maybe an hour or two? It was a while ago so I'm not 100% sure.

I hate to interrupt this XBLA thread with some XBLA talk, but we've been given some more info on the Summer of the Arcade 2013, and it turns out that we have a suitably unimpressive promotion for this unimpressive line-up:
Summer of Arcade Dates and Prices
The annual Summer of Arcade starts August 7th, and I wanted to share the schedule and pricing details:
Brothers: a Tale of two Sons launches August 7th for 1,200 Points
Charlie Murder launches August 14th for 800 Points
Flashback launches August 21st for 800 Points
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows launches August 28th for 1,200 Points
As a bonus, buy any two of the above Summer of Arcade games and receive a Souls Pack for Ascend: Hand of Kul for free.

Seriously, who could resist getting a free Souls Pack for Ascend : Hand of Kul? SO much better than a rebate or a free game. Good luck trying to hold out for a sale now.
