Re: Playstation Move Thread

Yeah, it still sounds very good and better than the 360 version thanks to the motion integration. I just wanted it to be the definitive version and it's not quite there yet, apparently.

Wouldn't that be because RE controls were so shitty to begin with? Nowhere to go but up.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

It sounds like they may have had to finish it quickly and weren't too familiar with the hardware yet. I'm still a bit skeptical of games getting motion added as an option as opposed to being designed for them from the ground up, but we'll see.

BTW, I hope Sony is working on a Hot Shots Golf game for this.

I think I'm gonna take a "wait and see" approach to this...

Re: Playstation Move Thread

Has anyone been watching XPlay this week? They seem pretty unimpressed with Move. They've previewed and reviewed about 4-5 games, and the word "frustrating" seems to pop-up over and over again.

Video reviews spoilered for size:

No. Not quite. They put the original RE game on the Wii and being able to use the Wii-motes didn't make any difference. I mean I couldn't get past the stairs in the mansion it was so bad. The folks who did RE4 for the Wii really did a great job on integrating the Wii control system.

I saw it. I was sort of fired up for Tiger Woods using the Move gear and I was going to get Eye Pet for the kids... I might wait until this hardware goes on clearance before I bite.

It just seems like everything I hate about the Wii and more. I don't think it will take long till all this Move stuff is in the clearance bin.

Those reviews are almost exactly the same as the IGN ones. Liked Sports Champions despite its generic nondescript look; think it works well. Hated the other two titles which appeared rushed. Both liked the hardware. The main difference is that they liked the PSN game Tumble while IGN hated it. And they were more frustrated by the controls of the TW11 integration. Am I missing something?

I just have NO desire to exercise during my gaming time - that's what the gym is for. Golf, however, intrigues me if it can replicate my swing and actually help me improve the muscle memory... if it's just going to let me hit the ball 350 yards straight down the fairway, I'm out.

And I agree, in the bargain bin by April 2011.

I liked reading he crawl underneath it where they posted twitter responses to the question "Are you getting a Playstation Move?" About 85% of them were a no, and half of those were a no, I'm getting a Kinect

I wonder how many of those half are going to regret their purchase, seeing the lagfest Kinect is shaping up to be.

Hahaha, if they think the Move is frustrating, just wait until they try out Kinect...

Perhaps you're right. I'm still optimistic, but maybe Amazon isn't. This is from their pre-order page for the Move controller :

IGN's Impressions of Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition with Move controller. Sounds....different. Not sure I'd enjoy it, but it might be worth checking out.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

I had canceled my order, deciding against getting the move. And then I saw that EyePet was now Move only and then I saw my gf's face when I told her we weren't getting EyePet because of that.

So... now, I'm getting it again.

Kmart is selling the bundle for $100 with a $25 GC. They're also selling some move games like EyePet that come with a $10 GC. I'm hoping Best Buy will have something similar/better or at least match it since I have some RZ GCs there.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

What's up with the move release dates? Most everything says September 19th, but I know one local GameStop is having a midnight release September 17th and Ultimate Electronics ad shows the 17th. The Kmart, Walmart, and Best Buy ads have nothing listed this week.

Even crazier... some Best buys have them on sale right now! The PS Blog said that it would go on sale the 17th but that some places would have it earlier.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

It looks like Best Buy's price posted in the ad link from the other thread (that I assume will be merged with this one) is $99.99. So it seems that Kmart is the way to go with their $25 coupon or at least to pricematch that to Best Buy.

Re: Playstation Move Thread

I don't think there are early-release penalties with peripherals like there are with software.

I already have a PS Eye, so I'll pick up one or two controllers, one subcontroller and EyePet at Kmart. Unfortunately, those $10 coupons neither stack nor are good the week of the promotion (so can't roll them into the next purchase). Still, like TL points out, it's the best deal right now

It's like the old days when Nintendo and Sega smack talked each other. Remember 'Nintendont!' I wonder what Microsoft response will be?

I'm gonna try and pricematch Kmart at Best Buy just to satisfy my gf's EyePet craving. And then I'll pick up extra stuff from Amazon Warehouse for a fraction of the cost. (I've been on a big Warehouse kick lately.)

No need to respond besides selling 10x the amount of Kinect than the Move... I don't remember if Nintendo responded to Sega back in the day.
