Now that DLC seems more worthwhile.

I'm holding off until either an "All Fronts" type bundle like Gears of War 2 or a DLC sale like last month's Borderlands or this week's Bioshock 2.

This RDR DLC is shaping up to be pretty good

I wonder how much dropoff there'll be when Halo Reach comes out. I realize it's only for xbox so the ps3 crowd won't be affected....I guess.....I only have a ps3 anyway.

So, it doesn't look like there's any new co-op missions in the next dlc which is what I've enjoyed most about mp. Not a big fan of the bag or gang matches.

Can't wait for the new dlc. Sounds like the shit.

Finally beat this tonight:

Spoiler:
Wow, what an ending. I guess there's no way to not die at the end right? I was able to kill one guy in the center and that was it.

I like what they did with the son. I always played as a "good" character with John Marston, however I play Marston Jr. as a murderous psychopath. It kinda fits him better. Fun game.

If the credits haven't rolled, the game isn't over yet.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

anyone have this glitch and know what can be done...

i finished my ambient challenges and therefore got the bigger satchel with Treasure Hunter completed. even though i don't use much i went to the store to just stock up on everything else to the max. snake oil, chewing tobacco, medicine, horse pills, etc... i believe they max out at 10 now instead of 5.

they were all in there when i saved and shut down for day. when i booted back up the extras i bought were all back down to 5. this has happened twice now.

i bought all the stuff again and saved in-game and then continued to play thereafter and they were maxed out @ 10, as they were supposed to. but, then when shut completely off and turn back on another time, they were gone.

has anyone experienced this and can help? thanks in advance.

Have not, sorry. But I used the absolute shit out of tobacco and moonshine. I was dead-eyeing everyone all the time.

Yes, I did. I mean that's why I play him as a psycho.

I hope they make the gambling in free roam where people can't fuck with you why you're doing it. I just have a feeling you're going to be having a nice poker game and some jackasses come up and kills everyone.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Finally finished the single player game last night (I'm sorry Cactus). Now I'm going for all of the miscellaneous stuff that I need for the 100% completion and single player trophies.

Once thing that was bugging me was "On the trail of Vaca" trophy which you get for uncovering all of the locations on the map. There was one location in New Austin that I hadn't discovered and I went riding along all night with no success. Finally, I decided to go to the R* Social Club this morning and saw that it was a place called Del Lobo Rock. Freaking annoying!

I think that horseshoe trophy is going to be the hardest one remaining for me. I'm really horrible at it...

I still haven't purchased the "Legends and Killers" DLC but I will definitely be picking the "Liars and Cheat" one. I'm hoping that they will make poker room/lobby for those interested in just playing MP poker or dice. It will be stupid for R* to allow outside players interrupting the Poker/Dice game.

I know it's too late now, but you know you can just buy the maps in the general stores, and you don't have to actually ride thru every location, right?

i don't think that is entirely accurate. even though i bought all the maps in New Austin and NP, there was one location that didn't open up in NA and i couldn't figure for the life of me what it was, showed 44/45 areas.

it looks as though it is in Nuevo Paraiso (on the very border, but separated by water), but The Old Bacchus Place is in New Austin and doesn't open until you ride there. but, Del Lobo Rock should have opened for Lorenzo when he did the 2nd or 3rd Treasure Hunter Challenge, so that is peculiar.

so has anyone maxed to 10 ,the stuff in the satchel, saved and shut off and still had it all maxed the next time you played?

I dunno. I'm pretty sure I never rode there. Maybe I did, but I know I bought all the maps. The trophies sites all suggest buying all the maps does the trick.

It really didn't think it was that hard... I only spent about fifteen minutes with horseshoes altogether. Once you get the direction (just a notch to the right of the stake) and hit right at the line you should ring at least one per match.

I tried screwing around in some of the online matches last week to get those trophies, but there's just no way I'm going to come out as the top player in consecutive maps, let alone three consecutive. I'm consistently top 3 or 4 on bigger games but there's always one dude that is far and away the best of the lot. Best weapons, most douchey, etc. And I don't think my team ever won. Aggravating. Even more aggravating is that I have to go back and get that stupid 20 consecutive mission horse trophy. I didn't think about it when I was playing through the first time. Stupid.

Same here. I somehow didn't have it pop. Must've run my horse off a cliff or something.

Have to boost those online trophies somehow.

i guarantee, the only thing that will keep me from 100% is the damn Five Finger Fillet in Torquemada, thus not unlocking the Reyes' outfit.

It might not be as hard as you think. The button inputs can be memorized, and you can enter them as fast as you want. They follow a certain pattern, which you should be able to get eventually. Write them down if need be. Also, make sure you choose the lowest bet to start. I only had to go up to the $25 level to win the qualifying game.

Somehow I just found a good group and was able to get the team trophy, but I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get the FFA trophy on my own. Best way to do it is not to select FFA from the pause menu, but to actually go to a FFA area on the free roam map. This will restrict potential players to people already in your free roam session, and most people usually won't join it because they are busy doing something else. So if you can get a friend to help you out (), you should be able to get it pretty easily like that. If you can keep other people from joining (kicking them if you have to) then you should be able to quit and rejoin after the shootout for 3 quick victories.
