Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

amazon for the win, though the dlc codes coming 10 days after you get the game might sort of be worthless, though in the past amazon is good about getting the codes out in a couple of days....I wish more games would be like Just Cause 2, where the code was in the game...

I have it pre-ordered at Best Buy but I think I will buy it from Amazon that way I get the pre-order bonuses from both places.

I pre-ordered Heavy Rain through Amazon and I think they sent me the Taxidermist chapter code after a couple of days. I'm hoping that they are reliable for this game too.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

Well, I am sure Rockstar is getting a little nervous with preorders...both systems combined it looks to sell 300-400 thousand copies its first week in America (based on current preorders), but with the budget on this game, and the fact that GTA4 did 4-5 million its first week in America, they can't be happy with that number. I know they are spending a lot of money on advertising for this.

Well when you go from an established series GTA to a relatively new in RDR it will be hard to match up. It's still early on and you probably know more than I do, but lets say by may there is 500k preorders whats the normal walk in day one buyers by comparison or first week for that matter?

If they let it get reviewed early and it gets great reviews I think they will be close.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

well it is at 60 thousand so far on each system 7 weeks out....Super Mario Galaxy is 8 weeks out, and it is at 150,000...and they estimate at vgchartz that mario will sell over 500,000 its first week. With 30,000 less preorders and one less week, it looks like they are going to do 400,000 tops...unless the marketing campaign helps (including ads before movies in theaters)

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

I am sure they fully expected this game to sell less than GTA4, and it did cost less to make because they used a lot of the build of GTA4...but it probably cost many times more to make than every game on the top preorder list, including Halo Reach.....

I wish they'd stop releasing these videos. Each one just makes the wait for it much harder

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

That's good stuff. It seems like they're revealing stuff every couple of days to make up for the delay.

Then again, maybe this is the reason for the delay.

Either way.....

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

the game looks amazing, and the multiplayer has the potential to be game of the year stuff if they handle it right.

Re: Official Larry C Red Dead Redemption thread!!!

so the multiplayer....are there modes that you and your friends can tackle against the computer? Like terrorist hunt on Rainbow Six Vegas? Do they have special co-op missions is what I am asking, like take out a group of bandits with your team, or is most of the mp competitive?

Well fox fromwhat I've read you can do all those things in free roam. As far as just a special section just for coop mode I'm not sure.

BTW I got your friend request and accepted it. So we have a 2 man posse who else wants to join? Are we gonna be a good or bad posse?

Yeah from what I can tell, you can do "missions" as a posse in free roam, I was just curious how significant this was, and if it was structured well. Terrorist hunts on Rainbow Six took up a lot of my time, and the idea of that on a larger scale is exciting...

as for Good or Bad posse..I will go with the team!!! (though there looks to be a whole set of missions in free roam where you try to keep away from the law...sort of a Horde mode....)

game is really looking amazing....

I'd be in as well but most of my friends play on the PS3.
