Well it's a given that there will be at least a couple reviews that say Rockstar failed and/or missed the boat.

I am guessing IGN will give it a 9.5 or 9.6.

Like I said I wasn't even on the fence with this but the more I read and saw I'm convinced this is going to be a solid fun game. Besides we've been overwhelmed with sci-fi, world war and mafia shooters and it's high time we get a dose of something "different".

We'll have The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and A Fistful of Dollars with a Pale Rider along side The Magnificent Seven...what more can one ask for.

I dont trust Game informer in there reviews, sometimes they can be very different then most other reviews. sometimes they give a game a high score when others give the game a 6 or 7 and other times they give a game with a low score when others tend to give the game a high score.

But have you seen any previews saying anything bad? It's not like when Final Fantasy XIII was announced, people were excited. Then they found out how different it was, no towns or airships, long tutorial, etc.

Alot of people said "I'll wait."

Then the reviews came and pretty much were great across the board.

There has been virtually nothing negative about this game. The fact that Rockstar doesn't really make bad games is even more of an assurance. I know some people have said they hated GTA IV or it was overrated, but they have made other games you know.

I swore off GTA after Vice City. I liked it, but it just didn't hold my attention for very long. So what did I do? I pre-ordered GTA4 and anticipated its arrival highly because of the gushing reviews. I think I played it twice. I felt it was slow, clunky storytelling and none of the missions really interested me much (the environment interested me even less). I sold it shortly thereafter. Fast forward to now. I still remember my disappointment with GTA4, but RDR is the Old West motherflippers. There's nothing that couldn't be solved with six shooters and horses. I disliked GTA4 because I just felt like we'd all done this before and nothing had much changed. I'm not worried about the reviews. Relying on obsessively glowing reviews gets me in trouble. I'm looking forward to exploring and screwing around in this brand new (old) world -- something I didn't give a shit about in GTA's dreary urban landscape. At the time, I lived in a dreary urban landscape. Now I have a need to break out my copy of The Searchers tonight, just to get in the mood.

I'm tempted to jump right into multiplayer, instead of waiting to complete singleplayer like I normally do. I don't want to be the only guy in the posse riding around on a donkey.

I'm getting a bit nervous too. My delivery estimate is tomorrow but it still isn't even in "shipping soon" status.

I'm also getting Alan Wake tomorrow, but that'll have to wait until RDR is finished. Crazy that two of my most anticipated games are getting released on the same day in May.
