I'm very surprised that Dante PS3 outsold the 360 version. I can't remember the last multi-platform game where that was the case.

It will be interesting to see how Final Fantasy breaks down.
I was hoping Mass Effect 2 would sell more then that.

Re: February 2010 NPD
people with both systems probably went with the PS3 Dante because it had alot of extras being "The Divine Edition". i have no clue why the 360 was screwed.

I would guess FF to sell more on the PS3, but I only base that on if I got it, it'd be on the PS3 just due to the 1 disc and higher resolution.

According to the numbers I can find, the 360 version of Batman just edged out the PS3.

Arkham Asylum for the 360 outsold the PS3 version in August 2009.
Batman: Arkham Asylum (360) / Square Enix (Eidos) / 303,000
Batman: Arkham Asylum (PS3) / Square Enix (Eidos) / 290,000
Add August and September together and there are an extra 9,100 copies for the 360 compared to the PS3. Obviously, that's close enough that sales for the rest of the year (and early 2010) could have swung things the other way.
By the way, those September Wii Rock Band numbers are just a little bit fishy. "Uh ... how many units did you say Eidos moved on that Batman game? Yeah, we totally sold more than that."

Re: February 2010 NPD
Pretty good numbers all around for February. It looks like PS3/360 are just going to swap the top spot based on who has the bigger exclusive coming out.
Ironic that the Wii sells gangbusters when there's nothing interesting to play on it, and it starts to slip when it has some potentially great titles coming out. Mario Galaxy and Metroid =
People still think of Bioshock as a 360 game, which isn't terribly surprising. I loved the first one, but I have little to no interest in the second one. I'll probably pick it up cheap down the road.
Really, the biggest surprise to me is Heavy Rain cracking the list. I really thought that game would be a flop.
Also, NSMB:Wii =

Yes, but the 360 has a much larger install base of consoles over the PS3 and I would imagine that PS3 owners would be more likely to wait for God Of War III than spend $60 on a decent but inferior rip-off as opposed to 360 owners who might view Dante as the next best thing.

I think a large number of 360 owners have PS3s and will go with that version if it has more features. I would expect FFXIII to be a much bigger seller on PS3 since it is graphically better and is on a single disc. People with both consoles will buy it on PS3.

Here's the rest of the Top 20.
http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/2...ary_Top_20.php
Given the original game launched on 360 and a lot of gamers probably think of it as a 360 series, I doubt it will have any affect on developing multi-platform.
