I just read another review of the game that complained that your guns are to weak and that enemies are bullet sponges. Anyone actually seeing this? Any of the guns in the game, especially after a few upgrades, can take anyone out on normal difficulty, with one or two well placed shots to the head. Even the colonels die with an upgraded weapon in a second if you hit the head. While I can't argue that seeing enemies spawn right before your eyes is stupid (has happened a few times) I am really finding this game easier than most sandbox games....not as easy as Godfather 2, but few games are....

The weapons start out quite weak, but if you get head shots it makes it easier....and of course upgrading the guns makes them much more effective. The gun that comes with the code when bought via Amazon is a pretty great gun as well, and the fact that it comes maxed out means it kicks ass. I wish there were actually more weapons to use as the ones incorporated are pretty great. Hopefully DLC will add this in along with more.

The game is not really difficult in the fact that you can keep respawning and attacking installations with them sustaining damage. The missions i have played so far have been pretty easy, but the game is so huge that to complete everything must take a hell of a long time. I spent over 200 hours on Oblivion going through everything and i think this game is gonna give that a run for its money. Not complaining about that at all. Every single game i have bought so far for my PS3 i have completed within 24 hours...even other sandbox games like Infamous and Prototype, so nice to have something that will take longer and make me want to do all the additional tasks involved.

I have put in 20 hours, and it still says I am only 20 percent done....so this might be a 100 hour game to do everything...

I don't know... I'm pretty sure that getting the final 10% will take much, much longer than the first few 10%s do. IOW, the longer you play, the less % per hour you will get.

does anyone know for sure after you beat the main game, that you can still finish up all the side quest, and faction missions?

Yes, it is called Mercenary mode or something like that. It mentions it in the strategy (nearly worthless) guide.

I guess that explains the 50% and such achievements that say normal or mercenary.

Re: Just Cause 2

I only have two more main missions left...these have been very fun, but a spoiler for the 3rd to last one

Spoiler:
you have to fight three mercenaries, one from Russia/china/japan..each on the top of a building near each other....it was the shortest mission yet, way to easy, and sort of a let down really....I hope they bring something epic on the next two

love this game....I have noticed that finishing towns 100% does not count toward your game completion...only faction/main missions and takeovers....

I think im one of the only people who beat the first one--when you finished the main plotline and basically overthrew the whole country, you could basically still go out and fight government troops and mop up towns and strongholds that you havent beat yet. All the side missions were still there.

The Mile High thing is hilarious. I was wondering what the hell that was floating out there.

Are you serious? Jesus, the game came out a week ago. How often have you been playing?

Yeah, I think its gonna take me at least a month to get through this. If for no other reason than the Agency missions are a bitch.

And from Phils strategy guide...

* Need to knock out snipers and guys in guard towers? Grapple them, and attach the other end to the ground at your feet. Seems to yank them down every time.

* My favorite time to get in some general chaos is on your way to a non-timed mission. At least that way when half the Panoa army shows up after you pull down a statue you'll restart nearby. :)

* Whatever you do, don't take a faction vehicle with a gunner if you need to get to a waypoint. Those crazy bastards just love to shoot up roadside soldiers and attract unwanted pursuit.

ONe thing I've learned about Shea is that if he likes a game he is likely to have the platinum in 2 weeks at the most rotfl

So does anyone have a favorite stunt/chaos they'd like to share.

Was doing the mission where you have to rescue the faction technician from a roadstop on a bridge, get in a yellow pickup and drive him safely to a waiting airplace about 2 kms down the road.
Once there, I spot a red APC on the runway and just for giggles, I grapple it to a green private jet thats just taken off. The carrier gets yanked off the ground and maybe a hundred feet into the air doing a lovely aerial ballet with the plane before the jet runs out of steam and augers into the ground tailfirst. Cruel, but epic. :)

But I wanna know what that damn grappling cable is made of!

Re: Just Cause 2

I enjoy latching the reds on to the gas tanks and then shooting them and watching the bad guys fly all over the place before they explode. However, sometimes those guys are able to undo the grappling hook before they meet their ugly demise. Bastards!!!

agreed...and getting one of the actual cities 100% takes forever...there is always some little gas station, or water tower hiding....

The worst for me have been the military bases. It's usually some fuel tank or generator hidden in the back of the place.
